transparent vs opaque

Hello Mike and other users of this forum!
i Would like to your opinions about this 2 style of tattooing color portraits?
i've noticed most maybe all of your COLOR portraits are opaque.
have you tried transparent method?
(i mean after puttung all of tons than glazing with skin tone.but not opaque skin tone instead watered down skin tone.like you would do portraits in watercolor medium. )

RE:transparent vs opaque

I used to do a lot more layering than I do now, by dabbing in the water and layer it until it becomes solid, but over time and after a thousand portraits I have realized that you can get almost the same results by just packing it in, so thats what I do now, although I will still use a bit of water here and there, just depends on the specific tattoo that I'm doing.
