Macon motor*

stupid spellcheck!!! lol ..thats what i say everytime that happens..any way i havent used one personally but i did do some research about them a while back. they seem to be the underdogs in the machine world for what ever reason.i think it is because of the style (look) that they have. that and the price people think that they are built cheap.but i honestly have heard nothing but good things about them everyone that i know that owns one likes them . but they do say that they are a little loud for a rotary.any way hope this helps and repost and let us know what you think of it.

The hummingbird GEN2 works like a Dragonfly while the hummingbird GEN1 works like a Stigma prodigy. I have both the machines but I prefer the Gen 2 ,great machine, low price, swiss motor and ability to adjust the stroke. Gen 1 a little too "violent" for me.

I had the prodigy and sold it at a loss two days after I got it. My dragon fly and halo are much more suitable to my needs.

I got the machine. It does it all quite well actually, it's just loud like the prodigy.

I'm gonna had my 2 cents here, I got one Gen2, and I love it as well.
It is a really well built machine, very consistent, and indeed cheap.
I first got it to try out rotaries, and just kept it.

James, I think their bad press is mainly due to most builders not really liking that intruder coming on their stomping ground, kinda recycling some of their ideas (let's be honest, it looks like an hybrid child of several other big names out there!), and for a fraction of the price on top of that.
I can't, and won't, blame them. It's only natural they're trying to protect their hard work.

There's also quite a lot of people in our community using very loosely "chinese shit" for everything and anything. ( pay attention where ALL parts of your gear are coming from...)
Well guess what, those guys can clearly put the effort in and reverse engineer!
Take a look at their tubes, pretty good now, back a couple of years, they were absolute rubbish!
I have never heard any bad critics from anyone I've seen using one.
Some don't want to mention it too loud, cause it's not "cool", but everyone agreed those are good, versatile, daily drivers.

I find it particularly interesting when people say " you get what you pay for" to argue against it... Because the hummingbirds are actually getting you more in that case!

I couldn't agree with you more. I do still prefer my bishop for lining and my halo for... We'll everything else but for a third machine you can not beat the price it is very good quality.

I took a chance and ordered a Hummingbird and received it in the mail yesterday. It's in the mail back to them for a refund today. While I do like the look of it and definitely loved the price, the adjustment knob to fine tune the hit did absolutely nothing on mine. I could spin it around in either direction and nothing would change on how it would back off when I applied any pressure. I spun it clockwise which should be tightening it about 80 spins and I could have kept going. It did nothing.
Not sure if I just got a bad machine, or what, but I didn't want to take the chance. For those of you who also have one, does the adjustment knob actually stop at a certain point when you have it tightened down all the way?

I bought a couple hummingbirds and I thought they were a great intro rotary tattoo machines and I still use mine every once in a wile I'm definitely addicted to my bishop and my swashdrive wip. I did notice the tuning knob is really lose on both of my hummingbirds.
