^I think what he meant by the apology is he spelled your last name wrong and was trying to correct it....
Then proceeded to correct it and misspell the first lol!!
It's like when you can't correct your autocorrect... arggggg so frustrating!!!!

RE:portrate tattooing

First timer here...n i probably shoulda tried this out a LONG time ago, but being a self-proclaimed artist and PROUD "scratcher", i stayed away from places like this because of the never ending fued and constant bashing on guys like me who tattoo at home. ANyway it looks like if you cant get tattooed by the greats, the next best thing would be instructional DVD's by them...n after that, a forum on one of the greats website! Lots of good tips...looking forward to exploring some of these forums and gaining knowledge n feedback...enjoy gents! If anyone would take a minute to check out my work n give me any comments, critigues or feedback i appreciate it! serious people only please, So JASON, stay out ;) www.facebook.com/maniakotattz

Just my 2 cents.

photoshop and bumping up the contrast " great advice"

go back to basics as well, i find that we grow in our craft and in so doing gain a load of confidence as we grow better but which also clouds important judgments.

go back to basics, get to oil painting some portraits, even if you take some extra classes in oil painting. Relearn or at least refresh your colour theory. Learn to use an artist pallet.

something else i have found to be beneficial is learning to be lighter on the skin and working in a washing manner.

line work is never attractive in a portrait unless it is a necessity and is solid lines in your reference

furthermore pay attention to your reference.

as said, this is just my opinion and what has done good for me, and this too is considering your doing colour work
