EIKON EMS 400

I bought an EMS400 a bunch of months back in 2011 when it FIRST came out. I had to send it back because it had a "mysterious de-lamination" of some sort like 4 days after using it. I had to send them pics of the issue and they asked what barrier film I used and what cleaning solution..

They replaced it although it took about 3 times longer than they said it would (a couple months.) They told me it was the only case of this they saw which I believed since it just came out...

Today after cleaning up after a tattoo I wiped it down with MedaCide-1 and the bottom of the touch screen fell off as I wiped it down GENTLY with a paper towel!! OK so I'm going to find it hard to believe that I'm the only guy this happened to and it happened TWICE??!! I better not have to go without for months again for a replacement!

I'm not the type of dude that breaks their shit all the time so WHAT THE F#CK EIKON!!!

hey bro,

I've had my EMS from the first week they were introduced to the market. so far I have not had a hitch with it, I once dropped it off a table, and it never had a scratch on it, i've wiped down my machine with everything from 1/50 bleach solution, to clavicide. and it never shown any signs of the touch screen being loose.

Ill ask around to see if I can find more information on it.

take care,

RE:EIKON EMS 400

Mine kept going out but I would unplug it and plug it back it to make it work. Had it since Sept 2011, and it's finally crapped out on me. No display on the screen, but it still works. I'm sending it back to see what's up. I miss the old turn dial blue screen one, wish I never sold it! Lol

RE:EIKON EMS 400

I got an EMS 400 in Oct 2012. I have had problems with the screen being scrambled... where is shows the CPS, clock, etc, it gets crazy horizontal lines through it and you can't see anything on the part of the screen. Eikon told me to do a factory reset on it, but it doesn't seem to have helped.

Also, I don't know if it is possible, but I have been have problems with my set ups now. Its like there isn't consistent power or something??? My needles are shaking all over the place, not constantly but very spurattically. Maybe for 5 seconds once every minute or so.... I have had to put 3 elastics on just to hold them in place. I have set up the same way for almost 5 years now and all of a sudden I have this problem... I have even replaced my machines with brand new Aaron Cain machines and still have this problem... any insight on if this can be the power supply...?

Hey guys,

It's been 2 yrs almost to the day from my last post on this topic.

To give an update on my Eikon 400. In the last 2 months, I have also been noticing some power fluctuations at completely random occasions. Judging by the sound, it seems as though more power is coming through at different times and it is causing my machines to run faster. after a while it will go back to a normal set speed. and at other times it will jump up and down. there seems to be no set time frame for any of this. it can occur in the beginning of my tattoo or in the middle, there is no pattern.. it can be a Little more difficult to notice when I'm using rotary's, because they are harder to hear. especially if I have music going, and can be potentially dangerous if I'm not paying attention, I could over work the skin if I'm not careful.... But now that I have seen this first hand, I am mindful to it...

I'm going to be doing some testing on the board of the 400 to determine the cause of this problem. I've tested the power of all outlets in my building and their is only a 1 volt variance, so even if I used a voltage regulator on the power to the unit, it would not solve the problem. I have a bunch of degrees and shit in Electronic and computer sciences that I never get to use, so I'm going to dust off my trouble shooting gear and see whats going on. I should be able to determine the problem. Most likely it could be something as simple as a resistor over heating, or a burnt cap, or just a communication error with the board...
Hopefully I can find the time to get to this soon to get back to you guys with it. In the mean time I see a Critical Cx2r-G2 in my very near future. But I'm NOT knocking Eikon, they make killer power supplies, and for what I paid. It has been good to me for 2 years without a hitch... I'm sure ill be the first in line for their next flagship model...

Take care.

RE:EIKON EMS 400

To clear up everything - perfect choice for professionals. If you had any problems regarding power or something similar its due to the fact that these lovely power supplies work only with industrial sockets. If you had any physical malfunctioning problems - Eikon will be happy to take care of that :)
