Ink Dropping out after healing

Hi guys , i have recently experienced a pigment drop outs after the tattoo have healed. It was mainly with women.

What could be the main reasons for this to happen please ?

I thought that i might be too soft handed with girls.

Thank you very much for some feedback.

Tomas

Hey,

The two main reasons for ink not staying in the skin after it heals are" 1, the skin was overworked and the pigment was removed along with the heavy scabbing. 2, The ink was not placed in the second layer of skin and peeled off along with the dead surface cells from the first layer of skin when it healed. The cause of this can range from your hand motions, stretching skills, area of the body to your machine set up etc....If you find that you are soft handed with women, then that could be a cause, due to you not placing the ink in the second layer properly. try to treat the skin in such a way that it has no gender. do what is required to get the job done correctly and safely. in the long run, if you are too soft handed with women and it's affecting your healing results, you are only causing them double the pain because you have to do the tattoo over again.

Hope that helps. Take care.

RE:Ink Dropping out after healing

It happened to me twice, with the same place - collar bone, it was just a small sign so i had to build the lines carefully with precision, it was not a single line pass, the skin looked fully saturated though :/

Thanx again.

Superman is right as always. LOL . i had the same problem in the same area a few times. i am very light handed so it has taken me sometime to over come that . when doing that area pack it in there... for some reason the skin is hard to deal with there at times on women . also a trick i use on gender related problems is when the stencil gets put on and i start to tattoo i only see the stencil and the skin around it .i make myself forget about it being a person. its just skin that i am tattooing. and that is all i see. this also helps when you are tattooing a boob or close to a private part and you start to feel uncomfortable because of the gender . sounds strange but it works well for getting the pigment in there on women. i think the reason it works is because now your mind can focus on the job and not worrying about hurting someone hope this helps

RE:Ink Dropping out after healing

Hi guys, i have been working again on this girl today, young girl 18 years old, pale skin. It was small tattoo a lettering on her collar bone 6cm * 2,5 cm approx.

I had my machines set up like always, and i had 08 - 3RL - the thinnest needle of this grouping and I have used 7 mag for the filling.

I was getting dull lines, almost no blood, stretching as strong and properly as i could, and it looked like i almost could not penetrate the skin, it looked like i was hammering the lines in - but still with no blood.

The same with the mag when i was colouring, could not get the collor in, many passes , little bit of blood, but i think i could not fully saturate the skin , as i would like to- because of its limits.

I dont know what else to use on this girl.

Last time it was 5LR and 9RS. It looked saturated after the session but when it healed there were almost no lines and the colouring was very weak.

I dont think that its my machines, cause i dont have this problem with other people.

I think if i need to redone this tattoo again the last option i have is to try long tapered needles for lining. But i am basically out of ideas when to come to colouring.

Cheers guys

Hey man,

Can you send me a photo of the area you tattooed, you can send it to me personally if you don't feel comfortable sharing it publicly to everyone else..

Cheers.

I am not 100% sure weather or not you can access it from here, but have a look. Like i said i worked it hard and i am not very proud of it but it seemed the only option.

RE:Ink Dropping out after healing

is your client using any type of numbing cream that you may not be aware of ? i had a client use some off the wall type off numbing cream and i had the same type of thing happen i asked him about it and of course he said no to using anything. but the next time i got to work on him i had no problems. or is she doing something to it while it is healing? like using wrong aftercare or using to much...and is this the only spot that you have tattooed on her if not how did the other ones react to tattooing?

RE:Ink Dropping out after healing

Hi James, thank you for your response.

I am 100% sure she is using no numbing cream. And this was our first tattoo on her. Like you said, I have been wondering if the problem was not her aftercare - i am a bit suspicious that she might have scraped off the pigment during the healing with her bra shoulder strap. Right now i am more surprised that i was not able to penetrate the skin and saturate it like i wanted to.

Cheers tom

RE:Ink Dropping out after healing

it may be the aftercare or her bra. as far as not being able to saturate the skin because of needle bounce.i would do as i do with anyone, if the body is fighting the needles and you are not traumatizing the skin then you will have to make some on the fly adjustments, adjust your machines to hit a little harder ,slow your hand speed down. maybe try some bugpins or smaller groupings or long taper needles and watch very closely to what is going on with the skin and its reaction to the different methods . also something to ask her, is she on any medications like any antibiotics. antibiotics have a big affect on tattoo healing. and some medication no matter what they are used for will play havoc on the skin while being tattooed and while it is healing. i tattoo this one guy and recently he got put on some depression medicine. now his skin acts way differently it swells and bleeds badly, but the tattoos come out fine. hope this helps
