Newbie to tattooing. Questions !

Hi guys, I've just stumbled across this forum while doing some research. It's Super helpfull, so I figured I'll give it a go.
I've decided i want to become a tattooist because I love getting, giving & designing tattoos, & there ain't much out there that pays u for doing something u enjoy.
3 months ago I bought a hummingbird rotary machine, some 11 round liners & a bottle of universal Sumi black ink from a reputable Aussie tattoo supplier. I started tattooing my leg. I purchased more inks needles etc and have just been practicing on my self and a couple of mates that don't mind being Guinea pigs. I feel like I'm naturally OK at it.
I'd like to get better and do more !
Here is a link to some of the work I've done

Please anything that stands out I'd love as much advice as possible
I'm having trouble keeping my lines sharp ! They go in fine, and some are perfect, but some seem to have very minor blow outs after they've healed up. . Only noticeable up very close, but still there.
How do I prevent this? I'm keeping the machine as vertical as possible
What are the most popular brands of black ink for lining and packing ? Can I use my lining to pack in solid black shading?

RE:Newbie to tattooing. Questions !

Your line work is ok not good but ok. Work on your lines a few blow outs and some shakey lines in the tattoos I've seen on your ig. Looks to me like you are tattooing over cloth not a good idea. Hygiene is number 1 in tattooing. As far as shading with liners you can very easily tear someone up be very careful. It's best to just buy shader needles. I've noticed you had a steel grip that needs to be properly autoclaved after every use. For lining I use eternal lining ink. For me that's the best. Solid black I use fusion power black. Don't take anything I mentioned personally just trying to help.

Thanks mate.
I shade with round shaders and definitely don't tattoo over cloth. (It's probably just the photos. The steel tubes I use only on my self. Everything else I use are disposables. Investing in a decent autoclave soon :)

Even if you just use the steel grips on yourself, you still need to sterilise them. What I do in my shop is put them in the ultrasonic, then after 1 or 2, i take them out, put them in soapy hot water, stick some gloves on then clean them with a wire brush, cotton buds and a toothbrush, then they go in the autoclave.

Yeah man I do sterilise the grip I use on my self, in a very similar way to you actually. Just haven't got the autoclave yet!
Even when I do get one, I think I'll still continue to use disposable everything anyway, not too fussed with different sized grips etc and with the two machines I have (Diablo hybrid & hummingbird) there's fuckall vibration through the tube.
