I messaged the guys at lace nano. I asked them if there was any give, or if it ran like a direct drive. They had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. I was not impressed by there lack of knowledge. I suggest buying from a company that knows there shit.

sorry, but it seems that you didn't watch the films about the machine or at least you didn't understand the way it works. i didn't know the machine before this very thread, but i instantly understood, that this machine hasn't got any connection between that let's call it "needle lever" and the motor. just have a look again:

so there must be some rotating magnet and pull the lever when it passes by. in my eyes very interesting principle, but not completely new. john clark is the pioneer on this battlefield:

so i completely understand, why the guys at lacenano didn't have a clue about your question. no connection means also no direct drive and when you have a closer look at the video or even just a picture, it will tell you that there's something like an adjustable give screw spring and rubber at the aforementioned lever.


i would say it's worth a go if it isn't too expensive.

Their site has very little in the way of reviews.
I've had a look around the internet and I'm skeptical about the warrantee and lifelong care deal as it doesn't cover the motor, not even on the 1yr warrantee.

If it works well I'm willing to give it a try but there but the site reviews seem very scripted??

Firstly I would like to say I have nothing to do with the Lace Nano company nor gain anything from giving this review apart from correcting incorrect information.

I read this thread regarding the Lace Nano before buying one, well I'm glad I didn't pay any attention to the naysayers. Firstly I would like to comment on the negative view put forward by people who haven't even tried the machine.

I thought that forums like this where for people to post things they knew about with the idea of helping people who didn't.

Tattooing like anything is full of jargon which changes from country to country, something obvious to you may mean nothing to somebody else.

As I said I bought one of these machines despite the negative comments and are very glad I did. This machine is extremely versatile and very light. I can adjust the needle depth and how hard the needle strikes with total ease. I can line and shade with the same machine, it can handle very fine work with single needle or 3RL XT needles creating beautiful fine lines or pack colour with a 1215 magnum shader.

The machine works with a magnet on the motor shaft driving the needle arm up and down and a simple but effective screw is adjusted to change the depth and the strike. The adjustments are very easy and very fine adjustments can be made to achieve exactly the settings you need.

I have been able to create some of the most robust solid black works to the most beautiful fine works I have ever tattooed. But this is me, this machine suits me very well.
