Mike.... first off i have purchased your book, read it front to back, week later, read it again, and finally did my first full color portrait, take a look at it, myspace.com/goldiestattoo, its the joker tattoo on the main image.. ive followed you very closely... and well recently ive found some images online of the neck lilly you did, and well... i SEE a electric machine in your hands... why? i myself love my neuma, and its consistancy... have problems with my compressor all the time, but its all worth it.. this issue has really been bothering me ever since i seen the pictures last nite.. i myself will go with what i am comfortable with and continue on my journey of becoming the best fLuckin artist i can be i love your color theory in your book.. its helped me alot.. if you chose not to respond, i understand completely this would be a huge issue in the tattoo industry... how many damn awards do you have on your walls??

hey that joker looked pretty good for your first attempt,practice practice that all i can say!!even though the jokers been done 1000s of times i still want to do one,maybe one day.
yeah i have been using coil machines off and on,as most people know especially after reading my book i was taught to tattoo with neumas,so i feel i dont want to limit myself with only knowing one machine,how would i be able to tell other artists my real opinion and the true differences between different types of machines if i only have used one kind,im still waiting on the neuma hybrid,should be anyday now.

wow, i cant believe you actually took a look at my work... honestly i thought you would be one of those artists that live in the clouds, that really makes me see artists of your magnitude in a different light.. yeah, that joker has been done a thousand times, whats one more? I never really considered myself a portrait style artist, until i seen a portrait tattooed, and loved the visible challenge, theres no room for mistakes, but constant room for improvement anyone can learn how to follow a black line and fill in the blanks but to actually create something using your own creativity is mind blowing.. how do you balance everything out man? i mean, work, family, clients.. and traveling? In my town, "2nd biggest in illinois" ive gotten somewhat of a popular name, and well... its really hard to keep up on everything.. plus consistantly improve in my desired style.. not to mention my wife is always on my neck..

was curious on how you are running the coil machines? point gap/long stroke or short...fast or slow and punchy..thx in advance.
