Stigma Bizarre2

Tried Stigma's Bizarre2 yesterday and I personally think it vibrates too much. Way too light for lining. Vibration spits ink every where. Is anyone having this same problem or did I just paid $600 for a piece of junk?
I'll keep using it for small projects but I guess I don't trust rotary to do giant pieces. Any information on rotary would help. Thanks

I do not understand this at all. My Bizzare v2 is my go to machine for lining and most large color pieces. The vibrations are quite minimal. However if you unscrew it to produce "give" it becomes louder and has a slight rattle. Perhaps the ink spitting is due to miss use of the built in tension screw? Also this machine runs fast! I color at around 8- 8.5 vots, as compared to the 9ish range for my hypers. I personally like it so much I am adding atleast one more to my arsenal. We all have our favorite machines and products that don't work for us. However to call the Bizarre v2 junk is just outrageous to me. Stigma makes high quality products. I am sure Artemis would be able and happy help you more. Try shooting him an email on the stigma site.

I couldn't disagree w/ the first two posts very much more. I've only used my new Bizarre for two days now, completing only 1 med-large tattoo and 8 small ones but I already love it! I think this is a truly amazing machine. It's only my first rotary machine, but I have some nice coil machines to compare them to. For the last two years I've used An Aaron Cain and Crhis Quidgeon Liner, 3 Soba Shaders (1 long, 1 med. stroke and a B&G shader) and a Tony Urbanek Shader. All of my machines serve a specific purpose, and as much as I love them (when they're running properly!) I can honestly say that the Bizarre performs BETTER than each of my machines respectively! The Bizarre is a super fast Liner AND a super smooth shader. The hit is incredibly consistent and produces really consistent lines and shading. The adjustability and versatility are awesome. 1/10 of a volt difference is noticeable, so w/ a 3.5- 4 volt usable range you can really dial in your speed. And you simply twist a knob to adjust the "give".
I too noticed a bit of vibration but nothing major. It's not heavy or dense so it doesn't absorb vibrations well, the upside is that it's light as hell (half the weight of your coils)! I did have some problems w/ it spitting too, more at first though. You really need to look at the needle tips when adjusting the tension while the machine is running so you can see when they stop hitting sloppy. There's not much in the way of instructions so I figured this out on my own but it's not rocket science, you just need to spend a little time and have some patients. I fucked around w/ that thing for around 45 min.s into my first tattoo before I got zeroed in on the speed, hit, and tension settings for lining and shading. I don't believe 10 min.s is enough time to form a good opinion about the machine, there's definitely a brief learning curve to adjust to the machine. I think an hour of learning the rotary is a lot better than years of honing your tuning skills and endless maintenance for coils. Bizarre maintenance consists of lubing 3 points every 200 hrs of use!
This machine isn't a compromise in performance, it's honestly sped up my work. Maybe not for everybody but definitely worth taking a look guys. Best $600 I ever spent, plus a 1 yr warranty.

I owe Stigma an apology! I did some adjustments and used the bizarre2 for 2 days straight and absolutely love it! All it took was some getting used to and a little adjustment and that baby laid some ink! I still need more time on it before I line with it but as far as laying in solid colors, Bizarre2 can pack in color like no other. Did away with the give and rode the barrel for some solid colors. I also threw on a rubber band + slight bend on the needle bar and it stopped all the ink spitting. I ran it at 7.5V for thick colors 8.5/9ish for black and gray. I knew I couldnt go wrong with German engineering! Thanks Stigma for a great machine. Totally happy and well worth every penny.

did u use the rubber band + tensioner thats already on the machine? ive been having a lil trouble with spitting ink but have been playing with diff bends in the needle bar to fix it

Rubber band + tension and a slight bend on the needle bar. I ran with 15 bugs without any spit. Good idea to put a lil dab of Vaseline on the needle bar so ink doesn't climb your barrel. Good luck

Glad to hear it Chac! I've only been using the bizarre for three days myself but I've been having a little more trouble w/ the spitting as well. I still love the machine but I'm not a fan of the tension system. I'm gonna do away w/ it as soon as I can find a small enough Allen wrench. Yesterday I ran it w/ a rubberband and no tension at all, I just backed it all the way off, and had much better results. Still spit a little, but so do my coils sometimes. Did my my first huge tattoo w/ it yesterday and noticed the the ink "climbing" up the bar as well, a lot! Now I know why I've been going through twice as much ink! :-) I'll definitely try using some ointment on the bar, thanks!
You tried the different cams to change the stroke yet? I have but I need more time w/ them before I can give my preference. But I think I might just be content w/ using the med. CAM for everything at least until I get a second bizarre.

Pawn, Havnt tried new cams yet. Maybe I'll try the short stroke but mid is working great for me. Love how light the machine is. 4hr session straight and don't have the tingly feeling on my fingers. I'm gonna grab another rotary. Bishops have lots of great ratings. The hell with the give and tension arm. Save $200 bigs.

What voltage ranges do you run the bizarre for lining, shading and packing solid colors? I feel that I can get more from my bizarre by just getting the right voltage.

i run mine at 8V for soild color 1 turn soft helps with healing and 8V 1 1/2 - 2 turns for shade playing with the tension will help tighten down the needle bar till it stops jumping nomore is needed it will slow down the cps screw up the ink flow and give less with too much tension i use 9 RM and 15 RM both at 8V haven't hit it off with the lining
hope this helps*

do u still have the ink climbing up the tube with the tension on it how u said? i played with mine for awhile putting ointment on the bar (which for me made it muddy when i was rinsing between colors) and using rubber bands+tensioner or just rubber bands cuz mine would either spit ink or suck it up the tube to the point of it coming out the back onto the tensioner and in the end i wound up putting more tension on it with the tensioner to where the bar was almost completley level with the needle tip and not putting any arc in the bar at all just a decent bend on the solder point and right above the loop and mine doesnt spit or suck up a crazy amount of ink anymore. for awhile i was thinking i bought 2 $600 pieces of junk but now whatever piece im working on i find myself reaching for my stigmas. i like the mid for just about everything. for b&g i run around 7.5- 8v mid excentor with it turned out 1.5-2 turns soft and pack color with it at 8.5-9 long stroke turned out 1-1.5 turns soft. im about to try the short for sum soft b&g in a day or 2 and see how it works out. ive heard good things about setting it up with the long excentor for lining but i just recently bought a neotat long stroke that puts down lines like a dream. ive used sum of the best coils out there and loved them but so far none of them hold a candle to my neotat for lining and now they make them with either clipcord or standard 1/4" rca instead of the tiny phono jack

Guys i want to upgrade my coils, and i want to get my first rotary machine, my budget is $600, would stigma be the best option to go? I checked the bizarre v2 and it souns very interesting. Please let me know what u think, or should i check neuma? I want the most versatile machine out there since i can only buy one. Thank you guys!

stigma machines are nice but if i were u id look into other rotarys that come with a cheaper price tag u could almost buy 2 of sum for the price of a bizarrev2.dont get me wrong i luv my bv2's but if ur on a budget then id think about it and research a lil more. i dont think nuema is manufacturing machines anymore and i wouldnt buy anything that requires air anyway.

Thank u, i checked some other rotaries: neo tat, bishop and swiss made, but i really dont know what would be the best option. This would be my first rotary, and by the moment i will be working only with one, so i needed to be a versatile machine just for shading, i really feel conforble with my coils for lining. Which machine would be the best? I have $600, what i liked about stigma is that i can use a normal power supply, or am i wrong? Please i need sugestions and feeback about stigma? Thank u guys!

im pretty sure just an average supply wont run a rotary. ull have to get some more opinions as i bought a cx2 from critical before i started using rotarys. but imo eikon or critical u cant go wrong with.
