Hustle Butter?

Hey, anyone tried out hustle butter?
That's what the ad says:
"Hustle Butter Deluxe™ is a 100% natural, 100% organic, VEGAN replacement for all petroleum based products used to prep skin before, as a tattoo lubricant during and to care for after the tattoo process. Made from mango, coconut, papaya and other shea butters, it brings tremendous amounts of benefits:
It will not remove stencils.
NO MORE petroleum build up, clogged tubes or worn broken down gloves.
Promotes healing upon contact, minimizing redness, swelling and bleeding.
Skin remains workable, no more over worked highlights, yellows and whites go in the first time... colour has never went in so easy!
REPLACE all petroleum based products today! Hustle Butter Deluxe™ will heal fresh tattoos quicker and with results that are unrivalled...results that last a LIFETIME!!!"

Some artists like tommy lee wendtner using it because they mostly do sharpie drawings on ther clients and hustle butter shall help not whiping the drawing away, because it won't behave like normal lubricants as vaseline. I can't really believe this, so has anyone yet tried it?
And the other thing is the ad says its made of "mango, coconut, papaya and other shea butters" so just to be sure you should ask every customer if he is allergic to anything like this or am I wrong with this assumption?

best regards
Belijaal

RE:Hustle Butter?

im not sure i guess its just another unneccessary thing on the market.
they search some "stars" or at least popular artists, give the m a big box for free and the artists says MY TATTOOS WOULD LOOK LIKE THAT WITHOUT THIS FUCKING CREAMY SHIT!!!!!!11111

and people buy it....

you know i also have seen a SPECIAL WHITE PAPER 10 sheets for 10 euro ,which is better for stencils. some months later i found out it is just normal copy paper ( 500 sheets 4,50 euro)

people trying to sell every shit to get your money.

i know tommy since years, and believe me i can tell you, his tattoos looked the same awesome before he used that stuff.

RE:Hustle Butter?

I use it. I actually like it a lot. It smells nice so my clients like it. It's relaxing and calming. The texture of it is a bit hard at first but kind of melts on the skin but isn't too greasy. It may be another piece of marketable tattoo stuff... But I would rather put my trust in people who created a product because they saw a flaw in products used in tattooing, rather than a product not designed for use with tattooing but we use it anyway. I personally like it, and their customer service is top notch. Great Guys!! I know that there are samples that get sent with orders from some supply shops.. AND if you call Hustle Butter directly, they'll send you samples to try out before you commit. No harm, No foul. Try and see for yourself.

RE:Hustle Butter?

hey guys,
at first thank you for your answers.

toidi: yeah I think so too, but with this flood of useless shit all the good stuff drowns in this pool of shit, thats why I really enjoy boards like this, so you can talk to other artist and exchange your experiences which product rocks and which sucks.
Tommy Lee is a really nice artist I also saw older videos of him tattooing, I think it was also with a stigma hyper, and all of us should know, it's not the machine, needle, inks or anything else it's the artist, even if better equipment CAN help to give you the last touch.

really? I didn't knew they were offering something like that, I saw this little packs at some supply shop, but thats a really fair deal and totally untypical for the tattoo industrie where it's most of the time like : buy it or leave it...

RE:Hustle Butter?

Yep... totally for real. You gotta let people try your stuff out before committing. They are tattooers, but also businessmen. If your customer service sucks, then your product sucks... EVEN if your product is really good... Ya Know? Email them up and they will send you samples.

RE:Hustle Butter?

This thing is a bit expensive but works good
as aftercare and it's natural.
For me as an better alternative for petrolatum based
creams during work is definitely redemption.
It sucks a bit at the beginning but when you get used
than is great.

RE:Hustle Butter?

the shop i work at doesn't support petrol products so all we use is hustle butter, it was a bit of a pain in the ass at first but you get used to it, it does absolutely small a million times better than petroleum so that's good, however i don't feel as though it keep you lighter values/colors as protected for staining during the tattoo process.
cheers

RE:Hustle Butter?

Tried this for the first time yeterday and really liked it. Definitly better than Petrolium and it smells really nice as well. Only thing that puts me off a bit is the price. Hopefully as it gains popularity they may be able to reduce the cost of it.

I also have a few customers that have allergies, one of them to coconut.

RE:Hustle Butter?

Looks like yet another overpriced aftercare product.
Since when do you need products like this to tattoo with,
a well done tattoo should heal up without any of this rubbish.

RE:Hustle Butter?

You use it during the tattoo process instead of petroleum products. So it dosn't break down gloves, etc. It's pretty cool. But yeah we'll over priced.

RE:Hustle Butter?

I started using it recently and It's awesome. As others have said it does take a bit to get used to and it is pricey, but it gives peace of mind by taking out much of the risk involved as gloves won't break down with it. Definitely worth the extra money.

RE:Hustle Butter?

Overpriced garbage. Ripped formula from lpi which is also garbage. Why would i want to buy from someone that goes around certifying Tattoos and posting on Facebook?

RE:Hustle Butter?

Im definitely Interested in trying this product. I would love to get some of the individual packs. Mainly to use as a glide but im still shopping around trying to get the best price. Anyone have and recommendations? on were I can score some. I was thinking about just contacting them directly through their web site. I figure its probably the best way to go. But whats been everyones general experience using this stuff?

RE:Hustle Butter?

Well, I use Redemption, not Hustle Butter because of some of the controversy I've heard about the Hustle Butter company, but the stuff is pretty similar. I have noticed better heals using a non-petroleum based lubricant while tattooing. Your body doesn't absorb petroleum from what I understand so during the healing process it kicks as much of it out of the tattoo as it can resulting in some more loss of color and after a tattoo is healed will still try to push some of that petroleum out of the skin resulting in those little white bumps you see in a recent tattoo from time to time. You don't get those complications with a non-petroleum lubricant. Also I've noticed that clients that are working on larger tattoos regularly have a tendency to break out with clogged pores due how often they are being tattooed with petroleum and using their aftercare products/lotion. As soon as I switched to Redemption, myself and a few of the clients I used it on immediately noticed less breakouts. So I'm happy with it. It is more expensive, but I save it for clients getting larger work. In my opinion it's been worth the expense. I don't buy the stuff about less bleeding and swelling and stuff and the yellows and whites going in first pass is just crap that's a technique thing not what aftercare you use, but I do notice better healed results.

RE:Hustle Butter?

I use it and like it, the stuff smells awesome but I just wanted to ask you guys who have used it something. I used it recently as an aftercare product on a chest piece on myself and a couple days after I got a few little pimple like whiteheads, I'm not sure if this was because of blocked pores or from a few ingrown hairs from my chest being shaved because ive had ingrown hairs on a thigh tattoo while using a totally different kind of tattoo aftercare before. I'll have to give it a try on an area like my arm or lower leg.

RE:Hustle Butter?

Hey sorry I posted this as a separate topic. I pushed the wrong post button cuz they're close together and I have sausage fingers. anyways, I used it as an aftercare for a couple pieces on my shop mates, we all liked it quite a bit. I tried it while tattooing on one of my regular customers, (and yes I let him know I was trying a new product that has received excellent reviews) and 5 days later all the ink is coming out. I had no idea what was causing it, he has no signs of infection, is in no pain whatsoever, the skin isn't irritated and there is no redness. Skin isn't raised either. It just has light, thin flakey pieces of color on top. I've never had problems tattooing him before, and several sessions were over old, dark, multiple times covered up tattoos. I did a separate piece on the other side of his arm about a week before we started the piece in question, it has no problems. I used A&D as the ointment on that one. Same ink, needles (well obviously not the same ones, but from the same box). I can't help but think it might have been the change in ointment. (Btw all ink is World Famous and Silverback, needles are Tat soul, all Mithra disposable tubes) Anyways he's coming in about a week, everything is healing faster than normal. Only issue is loss of color. Idk, maybe he's slightly allergic to coconut or mangos or one if the other herbal ingredients. Or maybe it has nothing to do with the Hustlebutter. Erring on the side of caution, I don't think I'll use it again though.

RE:Hustle Butter?

Hustlebutter
Smells good, it's waxy until you warm it on skin, I like that it isn't very sticky, so using it as an aftercare under clothing isn't an adhesive frustration.

The ingredients contain rosemary. One person I know is so allergic to rosemary it can trigger a seizure. So I have to be respectful of that.

Just my $.02

RE:Hustle Butter?

It's nice but I prefer cocoa butter (palmers solid formula) a fraction of the price and easily absorbed by the skin unlike petroleum based products. I'd use hustle butter if it was the same price as it does exactly the same!
