Crowning Coils (tape)

I was curious to know how many of you prefer to "crown" your coils with tape? I noticed it has made the machine much quieter and it seems to have softened the hit, in a positive way. A couple of builds that I put together are crowned with paper medical tape and it has made the world of difference. Thanks.

The only real benifit I can see from doing this, is that it could help reduce the magnetic sticking that happens when you set your duty cycle really low. and it may help with any choppiness when your trying to get a softer blends. i've never done this with my machines, but i'd be happy to try it on a few pieces and get back to you with my results. perhaps ill be crowning my machines in the future.

take care.
