neo tat-bugpin

hey Mike and everyone who reads this, got couple quick questions for you...#1..i have been using a long throw neo for my b and g,but not getting soft results like my coils, just wondering if the short throw will be better for b and g and what kind of voltage should i be shading my b and g with.......#2 just started using bugpins and they are not fitting snug in my tips...i use a 13 tip with a 15bug and so on,but there is room in there for another needle or two, should i be using them like that?????thanks for your input..

RE:neo tat-bugpin

There are different sizes of bugpins(#08 and #10) available from many suppliers. A 15 needle group made of #10 pins should fit a 13 flat tip whereas it would take 17 needles of #08 size to fill a 13flat tip. I know Mithra says they use #08 bugpins and they should be 2 more needles than the tip but that can't be correct. Consider this, if a 9 needle mag made from number #08 pins fits a 7 tip by the time you double that number of needles; (or almost double at 17 needles )the smaller diameter of the bugpins will require that you double the "extra" needles to fit a 13 tip. You can actually fit 21 needles of # 08 diameter in a lot of 15 flat tubes. Another tip is that you may have to buy tip from various suppliers to get the fit just right as they vary slightly from one supplier to the next. As far as the neo-tat goes I have no experience with them.

RE:neo tat-bugpin

the neotat is a rotary not coil so it wont bog down as much as a coil machine so you can run them at a really low voltage and the short stroke is much better for black and grey

Hey Cam. Do you find that that short stroke hangs up at all when doing your b & g. I have a standard stroke and a long stroke Neo.

RE:neo tat-bugpin

ill explain why i like the short stroke for B&G, it all depends on what you run your coils for b&g if your useing a massive stroke on your coils then go for the long stroke neo, the reason i like the short stroke is because i use a liner setup with medium tension for my B&G the reason i do that is i find it runs a bit quiker so you can get smooth blends with out the pin hole look
