Colors

I have been working on a cross tattoo with a banner for some time now. I have two names inside that banner. I used Mom's Black Onyx for the letters and tried a lighter purple for the banner. My problem is that the purple came out darker than what I was expecting. Now the contrast between each are to close together. Does anyone have any advise on what name brand colors that can cover or lighten Mom's black onyx to get a better contrast? Or if it will be better what colors that can lighten Mom's Purple Nurple. I have only used starbrite, mom's, and kumi sumi black.

Any advise will be helpful!

RE:Colors

Honestly, you need to spot check the tattoo, if you are not sure how dark the color will be. The color is going to look as dark as when you apply it, unless it does not take. What good would lightening the black do? You may want to blend a very light magenta/pink with white, and saturate over the purple. You seem inexperienced, and may want to take a step back to avoid ruining this person's skin though...

Thanks for the color idea. The tattoo is mine. I put it on my arm, trying Mom's ink for the first time.
