tat soul/stigma

ok im not one to complain about paying for a good machine, but i gotta say i was really blown away when i seen tat soul started selling the stigmas for 700-750$ 500-550$ ya i can do that but i gotta say im alittle irritated that they jacked the price up that high...i just feel like they are taking advantage of the supply and demand thing a little to much...ill probably still end up buying a couple just because ive been trying to get my hands on one, but does anyone else think this is a little ridiculous?

RE:tat soul/stigma

I agree, though I already made the step you will, I have my stigmas already and got them from tat-soul. It's a bunch of $ but for what they are I was willing to shell out the $. I just remind myself that they will pay themselves off in a week and it makes it not so ridiculous.
Are you looking at the hyper 2's? I am still undecided on getting a third one. Part of me wants three set up for various reasons but I feel lazy because they can be easily adjusted. Anyone out there use them enough to chime in?

RE:tat soul/stigma

Chris and Jason,

We definitely really feel for you, and let me reassure you that we are not increasing the prices to make a lot of profit. We are not here to try to take advantage of the supply and demand.

In order to keep these Stigma machines in stock, we have to go the legit route of importing the machines. This means we have to pay higher taxes, import duties, and shipping fees. After all fees, and the very small discount we get from Stigma, our cost is actually higher than the European Retail price.

If we can somehow reduce the cost of getting these Stigma machines, we will definitely pass the savings on to you. If you want to wait, we might be able to negotiate a better deal with Stigma, and get you a better deal.

RE:tat soul/stigma

Ya I was just a little took off guard...every other place was around 550...but whatever I purchased one and ill get it on on Friday...and your right about making the money back I've made the money back already in the last three days and haven't even got it yet...I'm gonna get a couple more if I like this one...I'm a total machine junkie and I'm always trying different machines these days...so far I'm loving the neo tats but a little scared of overlayering so taking it slow...after I try out my stigma I'm gonna get a couple of the intuitions and try out some air machines see how they work for me....

RE:tat soul/stigma

That is a ridiculous amount of money for a machine that certainly has its critics.

I look forward to the evaluation from the Inkjecta Rotary in a few months.

In addition, the Neotat is a good performer at a far better price

RE:tat soul/stigma

TAT-SOUL, Look I don't want to get in a bickering match, the cost you have set is a lot. I wanted it, you had it in stock so the price was the price. Others in the US sell them for much less and according to Stigma: "We are in contact for a while now with Tat Soul to "straighten up" things and to "get them move into the right direction".. so please don't make it seem like you have to sell them for what you do.
I firmly believe in the phrase; "Worth price charged" Honestly, if you sold them for $1,500 and you were the only one's who had them, I still would have placed the order. I respect the stuff you guys sell because you don't just sell anything. I know if it's on your site that it's quality. Just keep doing what you are doing but remember the people who purchase from you shop around. In closing I love my Hyper V2's and don't regret the purchase one bit, I have one of your chairs and it's also awesome, your tubes rock. Like I said, worth price charged, quality...

Jason, You will not be disappointed. I think you got the same email from Petra that I did. You should have my email. If you have any questions after you get your machine hit me up. I too can't help but to get machine after machine for nothing more than to have a variety, it's addictive.

RE:tat soul/stigma

First I like to thank all artists and sales partners that support us for some years now with their keen interest in the Stigma Rotary® tattoo machines and with their trust when choosing and purchasing them. Stigma-Rotary®`s are designed right to the last detail from professional artists for professional artists and have become first choice for many tattooists worldwide; making incredible art with our machines. They are in highest quality; developed and produced with extra ordinary costs and therefore not to compare with
cheap manufactured machines. Our margin as well as the margin of our distributors can not come close to what might be possible on more simple constructed and performing machines in inferior quality. Stigma® offers some of the best rotary machines that are available right now on the market for easier and more comfortable tattooing. This has created a really high demand and we are interested that every artist, no matter personal tattooing style or budget can enjoy these advantages
to achieve better and best results. We originally offer our machines to reasonable prices and it is not in our interest to take advantage of the great demand in a way that does not go confirm with our company policy: to always remain a faithful and loyal partner for every and not only for "elite" artists ( if there is such a thing ). We are tattooists ourselves with the respect that all our colleagues deserve when they invest their hard earned money in our equipment. We therefore really focus on the artist first and try to keep fair pricing. This is why I said in my personal emails to Chris and Jason that we try hard to "straighten up" things and to get our distributors to "move into the right direction"....Mike DeVries, EIKON, some other distributors overseas and all our European partners understood and agreed to our sales strategy and were always fair with their customers. Unfortunately Mike was to busy with work, own projects and conventions,... to continue to distribute our machines as it is also much of effort to import the machines from Europe, deal with and pay to shipping companies and customs ( which makes the machines
unavoidable more expensive in the US than here in Europe ). Also to work off waiting lists and answer to questions that artists naturally have when they invest in tattoo equipment...Therefore we like to thank Mike especially and ones again, as he has been our first US distributor. But also our other co-operation partners as well for very positive business experiences and for giving us the opportunity, to present and bring our machines to artists all over the US, Canada, Australia, Europe,...
Them and us for sure do not make the" big money " out of our machines....but in return we all receive credit and good reputation for offering the best products that every artist needs on a daily base and for being reliable and professional partners in the tattoo scene..
And to our friends from TATSoul: come on guys, as discussed with you before, what is easily possible for other US suppliers should be also possible for you. Your artists count on you ! We know and you know that it is still profitable for you in many ways to carry the Stigma®`s, even there is no other "deal" with us possible because of the high costs for development, production and continuous advancement ( as you know as well). Apropos of what you think: that we are selling a Ferrari at Ford prices > yes, correct input. This is our business strategy that we will try to pursue as long as we can afford it.

RE:tat soul/stigma

I could understand why TatSoul would price the machines at those prices. Importing expensive machines is not an easy and cheap task. It takes a lot of time, money and effort to get them in stock in there on-line store. Taking what I dealt with into consideration that seems to be a decent selling price for a Stigma Rotary. It makes sense! Yes, you can possibly get them cheaper somewhere else but I dont think they are bumping up the prices because of supply and demand, they are bumping up the prices because it makes sense as a business to turn a profit, they are offering a great tattoo machine. If its to expensive for certain people then try out another rotary machine that is cheaper. Thats my input anyways...
