Stigma

Yo mike, even though the stigma tells you not to go pass 12 volts, have you ever went pass 12 volts? I havent tried to go pass 12 yet because Im afraid it might ruin the motor but, Is it ok to go pass 12?

RE:Stigma

Jason and all I guess...
I'm running with the screw almost all the way in and about 10 volts. I really haven't lined with it yet but for blending that seems to be the hot set-up. I have a flatline though which I can't put done for linework. IRT turning the machine up too much, I would stay away from doing more with a machine than the designer intended. What if it breaks? I doubt stigma would be happy to fix it for you. .02

RE:Stigma

You can go up to 13 volts maximum it is not a problem for the machines but the speed would be to high. Here are the stitches per second (HERTZ) for the Hyper .
8 volts = 66 Hz
9 volts = 83 Hz
10 volts = 100 Hz
11 volts = 116 Hz
12 volts = 133 Hz
13 volts = 150 Hz

RE:Stigma

thats the problem of rotarys stigma and all the other´s
i try the hyper and need 13volts to get solid ,and make to mutch skin damage, and dont make the color pigment like they should because the high speed
stigma is good for people that work with soft blending airbrush tattoo, for solid work, forget about it....coils or die

RE:Stigma

Jason, Im sorry but I find that not to be true. It all comes down to technique! I think with any rotary or coil machine. You can pack in solid color, some people will struggle with either type of machine if the technique isn't there for the specific machine. Not saying you dont have the technique down, but I see many cases of artists using coils and cant pack in color worth a shit.

RE:Stigma

mike in a tattoo how many time you work on blending and how many time you go for packing color?
the goal is get soft gradations with always packing color but this is almost impossible, sometimes we have to go with blending.
whats your preference?
