I use micky sharpz, they are good working machines, but every tattoo artist works with machines that feels good in their hand.
My liner is a micro dail liner and My shader is a paul rogers.
I use also machines from Tim Hendricks and Mike Young.
I stick with coil machines. I don't have experience with rotary machines, but I'm willing to change that and try one of those.
I have a very cheap coil machine that works even better than my Sharpz,... The real magic is to tune your machine the right way and use the the best spring setup that works well for you...
To make it short,,,, it's all about taste.
If any one has another opinion feel free to give it

Thanks man, then I will buy some Micky Sharpz machines, you know I really think coil machines are better, you can tune them as you want but the rotary is just like it is, dont have give, damage more the skin, better i will change and learn to tune my machine as I like.
Anyway Im learning aswell, this is what I think about rotary machines, maybe Im wrong.

No problem, at the moment I'm testing different springs, arm bars and even coil size.
I'm thinking of building my own machine, just to know all about it.
Building and tuning a machine is all about trail and error.
Be patient and at the long run you'll succeed...

I started out with Revolution rotary machines. I now use coil machines and wish I had started out with coils. There is no comparison. Working with coil machines gives you a lot more control, like an extension of your own arm, hands, strength and style. My relationship with my machines are a personal one, almost like we talk to each other. Rotary machines are like a microwave, you can't control the boil and I don't suggest it for large needle groupings.

i started out with mickey sharpz over 10 years ago, when i completed my training. They are in my opinion the best 'manufactured' machine you can buy. They are workhorses and were good for what i used them for. I now find they just dont do what i want them to do, it maybe because of refined techniques or something else. I started tinkering, researched and came up with a few crazy prototypes then finally built a liner according to my needs. Ill pull out my tdial now and then and kinda smile because i know that these machines got me to where i am now, good luck on your purchase.

Genuine Micky's are sweet,beware of the many knock-offs,the real deal are value for money.

my first machines about 20+ years ago were 2 mickies- one sharpz nuclear hybrid and one bee prefab dial. although i got me some t-dials among other stuff over the years of tattoing and collecting machines, both of the first are still my favourite ladies and i still love the hybrid most of all my machines. even the first capacitor is still in good shape and it took only a new back spring from time to time when they broke. on the sharpz i even didn't fiddle around with different a-bars or spring strength, when (let me call it) "eikon-age" broke loose- i did all kinds of weird experiments with springs and a-bars with all my other machines like fowler, next gen, ot-systems etc., but i left my sharpz and bees nearly untouched, because i feel totally great using them- never disapointed me, not even one of them.
but as already told above: contact micky to buy, because there are tons of bad copies around- even with the scratchy signatures copied on them. and even most of the old and experienced owners of the real deal often can't tell you, whether that lookalike iron on ebay is original or a knockoff. i also saw good copies of the certificate and even the cardboard boxes...

Just curious how you learned to tattoo? Or where rather? Were you taught in a studio on rotary?

I started out with a Micky sharp contraption, it was a great machine and withing a year I had 5 Micky sharps. They are great machines n I feel you can't go wrong them. If you go for USA machine I recommend workhorse irons and fk irons

sounds like u didnt have anyone to help u learn how to use rotarys and now u dont like them. they do make them with adjustable give these days dragonfly,stigma,spektra etc. i think every artist should learn with coils to the point that they can build their own machine for any purpose out of a frame and a pile of parts and they try rotary ull have alot more understanding of the overall process of tattooing and u will probably like the rotarys. to be honest i use both and not just coil for lining. workhorse irons makes sum top of the line machines. i own 2 from soba and love them but my favorite coil machine was made by me its workhorse & eikon springs hardware and coils and i think the frame was an old bsi. i have it setup to run b&g now but could change it up in a half hour to do whatever i want. get u sum coils and learn them inside and out but dont sell ur rotarys short ull prob wind up playing with them later. and to whoever said rotarys were bad for bigger groupings??????? thats what i use mine for more than anything else and they work great

in answer to the question are micky sharpz machine good,,i have a machine from micky i bought over 25 years ago and use it everyday and its still as good today as it was when i bought it, is a s/s hybrid, my favourite, i have a very wide range of machines but use this on every tat,

hey, they are both legit. the mickeysharpzusa.com is the american website and the other one is for rest of the world but if you go to the bottom of the mickeysharpzltd.com one you can click on a flag for a specific country. great machines by the way. they last forever and they are very dependable. i had one for years. then it got stolen.
