Stigma question

My Hyper has been acting like the screw is all the way in for a while now (no give, or throw difference, no matter where the screw is). Its been getting slightly warmer than usual, but still works great since thats about where I use it anyways. but I wanted to experiment again recently and the screw does nothing. Honestly when I think back on it, it always seemed like the give was either really soft or really hard hitting with no in between. Which is probably why I turned it in to begin with. Any ideas or suggestions?? Thanks!!

RE:Stigma question

you may have damaged the give mechanism, if you read the owners instruction it says not to turn the give any more than 2 full rotations, if you look closely on the top of your machine give wheel, you will see a dot on it and a dot on the machine. this is a guide for you to keep and accurate eye on how many times you turn the give in. if you look at the rubber washer under the give wheel don/t tighten it any more than when the rubber washer touches the base of the screw housing. this is usually the no give point, if you tighten any more ,there is no difference in the give, its already at the max stiffness. if you.ve wrenched on it too much you could have damaged it.
give stigma a call they may be able to repair it for you. you may take a hit on the shipping cost but its still worth it. hope that helps. take care

RE:Stigma question

my hyper seemed to be doing the same as __E__'s
mine was like that right out of the box...
should i be able to compare it to my Dragonfly?

RE:Stigma question

Actually, I've haven't yet tried the dragonfly and had been wondering if it's ability to adjust was better than the Hyper. (or at least my hyper anyways)

RE:Stigma question

Hi this is Artemis from Stigma,
the Hyper has infinitely adjustable softness (give),but the hard hitting spot is quite close to the soft hitting spot so you have to make only small adjustments on the control screw to get the spots in between.
So try this an if you still think there is a problem we will happy to assist you . Here is our email info@stigma-rotary-tattoo.com
