Different Skin Types

I have came across many different skin types and I know usually just adjusting a few things work well and you carry on. I have ran into a larger issue. Hopefully someone can help me out. I worked on this girl it was the back of her neck and up to behind her ears. The ink was not taking at all did not matter what I did nothing seemed to work. I got roughly just my outline...took forever I still have to finish up. Is there any other suggestions of of I can try to avoid having this issue again with her? I asked her if she has ever had any issue in past with other tattoos and she said yes. (It would have been nice to be told before I started) She said also when she heals her skin rejects ink in spots. She has always had this issue. It's crazy because her skin looks so soft and pale that you would think there would not be a issue at all. I really don't want my work to look like crap because of this. I hope there's something else I can try that will help.

RE:Different Skin Types

theres a lot of differnt skin types, once I saw a tattoo done on this guy by a well respected artist I was tattooed by myself completely dissapear within a year. I was so mind boggled over this I had to research it, and it turned out the guy who it happened to was told to see a doctor, after several people and doctors advice, he finally was sent to an allergy doctor, and tested to see if he was allregic to certain things, and they found out that out of about 30 things he was tested on he was allergic to 26 of them or something like that. Some people just don't take ink for many dif reasons, everyone is different. stick with the easiest colors-black and red, and the easier areas of the body (not hands feet elbows etc) and you may have better results over time.-oldschooljerry
