Does the quality of a power supply affect the quality of a tattoo?

I have a very basic power supply right now that is pretty reliable however I am looking into upgrading. I've heard the Eikon power supplies are really good but they are pretty pricey. How much does a quality power supply play in the quality of a tattoo?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

the answer is yes it does have a big affect on the quality of a tattoo in the fact that it is what makes ur machine run at its best. think about it as gas and a car if u put shitty gas in a car it will run like crap and back fire. if u put premium gas in ur car it will run as smooth and reliable as it was meant to. ive heard great things about eikon but have never used them i personally own a critical cx-2 and it is hands down the best ps i have ever owned/used. u can get them at criticaltattoo.com for about 260-280 and its worth every penny.

it is really true, a good quality supply like eikon or critical makes your machine run better. it just runs smoother and better...

i always bought cheap power supplys because somebody told me that he builds those supplys everyday and you can go wrong with cheap ones because theres the same technique inside.... FUCK NO that is just not true!

then i bought a critical and a eikon and i noticed that theres a difference like heaven and hell.

both are awesome. i just think that the eikons are much more "robust" sorry i dont know if its the right word in english...

invest some money and you will NEVER ever buy a cheap one again because you will be happy with the quality supply!

Thank you so much for the feedback! Which one out of those two would work best with rotary machines?

i think any model after the 200 will work with eikon (correct me if im wrong) and all the criticals will. my cx-2 runs my stigmas just fine. also if u like a smaller compact ps that u can setup anywhere or travel easily with i would go with the critical but either one and u cant go wrong

So my question is between the Eikon 300 and 400 and the Critical Cx2r G2 which one is hands down the most reliable as well as consistent with keeping my machine running smooth , consistent and efficient?

They really do.

When you're in the process of doing a tattoo, you want to be entirely focused on that. Having a PS that you don't have to worry about or doubt will allow your focus to stay where it should be.

I'm about to pick up the ES300 for my Hawk, I expect it to run as well as the 400 and save me some space.

.
if you take in account that the critical and the es300 need transformers in an external box, then you'll safe not that much space in comparision with the 400 you might have thought- because there the transformer is encased in the main unit. for travelling it doesn't ,make much difference, at your homebase you'll safe a bit of spare space- there you can get the external power chunk off the table. is there any way to get the 300 mounted vertical to your workspace?
