Vivace vs bishop rotary

Just wondering which one is recommended over the other... Basically they are both linear machines, and both have good reviews but has anyone tried both? I Wanna add one of them to my collection. Thanks

Hey bro,

both are excellent machines, If I had to give one the edge, I would go with the bishop, I just like the feel and balance a little better. as for the Vivace, I still prefer the older model to the new one, again I'm just splitting hairs, I just like the feel of the older model... Ray Webb makes a killer machine and has been one of the leaders in the industry for a long time now...One nice thing about the Bishop, you can ask Franco Vescovi to do a custom design for you to make it more personal, Just a nice touch....

hope that helps, take care.

RE:Vivace vs bishop rotary

The Bishop has actually switched the company they are using for their motors. Bishop switched a little while back to Maxon Motors for theit machines and actually sell a Maxon motor to replace the old Mabuchi motors they were using for their old machines.
The Vivace is using the Mabuchi motor in their machines. So, its really up to you. If you want a Swiss motor which are supposedly more reliable, go with the Bishop, if you feel the Mabuchi motors are reliable enough go with the Vivace by Neotat. Love both of them. thats the only difference i see.

RE:Vivace vs bishop rotary

I have several of both. Honestly I prefer the Vivace.
It seems like there is less vibration and the slider is even with the machine when stopped as the Bishop slider sticks up out of the machine when stopped.
I also get way better customer service with Ray Webb and Neo tat.
Now, the new Capo machine has cancer causing material in the covering they use over the connection wires, so beware!
But as superman said, to each his own.
