bishop rotary chaging speeeds?

I've noticed my new bishop rotary changing the speed while I tattoo. I've used this machine 2 times but am switching back to my coils until I find out what is up with this. anyone else use this machine and find it does this? this is my first rotary machine and I've done some research but Im not super educated on it

Are you using an rca or clip cord? I recently had a problem with my dragonfly where it was running inconsistent and slowing down a lot. I took a look at it and one of the clip cord posts was slightly loose in the back of it. Could also be internal, like a wire ripping loose from the solder or something like that.

never had a problem with it happening w/my bishop. Does your power supply flux much on your other machines?

RE:bishop rotary chaging speeeds?

What power supply are you using? The same thing was happening to me so I sent my machine back. Franco vescovi called me and said they ran it for 4 hours with no problems. He then asked me questions about my set up. When I told him I use a hurricane power supply he knew the problem right away. He said those cheap Chinese knock offs use the cheapest lowest quality parts and in the end will begin to destroy a motor in a rotary tattoo machine. He said they will run coil machines but destroy a motor. This is coming from Franco himself. Don't destroy your moron motor invest in a high quality eiikon or critical power supply. I hope this helps good luck.

I have one of the first gen. Bishops, it did the same thing. it was a flaw in the original design. if you contact them and send it back in they will put on a new back plate. the old ones compressed the wires against the motor, and would cause it to run inconsistent and even heat up. they were very quick about fixing the problem and getting my machine back to me, with no charge.

RE:bishop rotary chaging speeeds?

Ive recently had the same prob with a Bishop rotary from 2011. It seem to fluctuate speeds depending on the angle i hold the machine, so im thinking it either the clip cord or something within the machine itself. At first I thought it just needed to be lubed, but after that still did it. And i run it with a critical power supply.

Hi am having the same problem with holding at different angles it slows to a hault and i too am using critical supply and magic moon rca, my other bishop is fine iv only had the pair for the matter of months and am very happy with them but this is frustrating i hate having to send things back and be stuck without one of my tools
