Hustle butter vs redemption

I wrote a post not to long ago wondering the options of others about hustle butter and redemption, does anyone have any opinions on these two products.

Replies:

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

Yeah I deleted the post. It seemed like it came from someone that has affiliation with Hustle Butter and then the second comment really seemed like someone was knocking Redemption from someone that worked for Hustle Butter. Now remember this is my forum, if I don't think something seems right I can delete it. In which, I don't delete things very often, actually its a rare occasion.

I've never used Hustle Butter but I love Redemption so I cant personally give a solid review because I haven't used both.
Here again, if I think Hustle Butter is getting on here and knocking it, as a bad ethical business tactic, Ill delete this post again. Sorry but thats the way it is. Tattoo Artist and a friend of mine...Timmy B introduced "Redemption" to me and it works great!

I'm just curious why Hustle Butter vs Redemption. There are 100 other types of tattoo ointments, tattoo lube, aftercare, etc. So just the title of this post makes me think twice. I could be wrong, and it could be just a simple question and I'm looking into it to deep, but I'm backing Redemption because of the team I know behind it and I like it.

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

A side note, we like Redemption and the crew behind it so much that Stencil Stuff is teaming up with Redemption. You might think, "Oh, thats why the post got deleted in the first place." But we know there is tension between these products already so I don't want it to go there, especially personal beef. This forum has always been about opinions and helping people. There are Stencil Stuff posts that knock the product by competitors that I never deleted. Opinions are fine, personal attacks are not.

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

Hey mike,
I commented on the hustle butter on the last post. I have absolutely no affiliatstion with hustle butter, I was just speaking from personal experience.. Not to say redemption isn't awesome as well. All I said was it was HB was a good product and had positive reviews from people I have used it on, and that richie was a cool guy, that's it man... I don't play favorites I'm this industry... I just use what I think is the best product available. If you send me samples of redemption I would be happy to test it and compare it to HB and give an honest review. Sorry for the confusion mike.

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

And I don't think he meant to have one versus the other. I took it as a comparison of two of the best products available. I wasn't aware there was such tension between the companies. It is possible for multiple companies to exist within an industry peacefully. Maybe I'm wrong.....

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, this day an age, you gotta have your guard up. I recently went through some crap, and thats why it's up right now. Just don't like drama! That about sums it up. Once we get product we can send samples to you if you would like. As a matter of fact you can probably still get some from Tattoo After Life.

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

Hey mike, I wrote the original post n if it came off disrespectful that wasn't my intent. I'm not sponsored by hustle butter, and although I have met richie from hustle butter I've also met sponsored redemption artist such as tanane Whitfield and Dave tevenel at a recent convention and talked to them about it. The vs wasn't meant as them battling out type of thing, your forum always has vs in the subject line and I always thought it meant comparison. From my experience they are the 2 most popular. I have used hustle butter n I do like it, from the last show I went to I saw a lot of artist using redemption as well and I gave it a shot. I just personally didn't like the smell and wanted to know if I had a bad batch. This is my opinion and I wanted to get the opinions of others. It's not my intent to bash any products nor am I trying to promote any other products. I have been an active contributor to your forum for quite sometime and I hoped this clears things up. Once again I just wanted to get your opinion and the opinions of others, thank you for your time bro.

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

I finally ordered some redemption. I absolutely love the product for tattooing. I am going to try using it as a healing ointment the next time I get tattooed. I won't recommend aftercare until I try it on my sensitive skin haha. As for hustle butter I am sure it is a quality product. I have not used it and thus cannot review it. Regardless I feel I will never tattoo with petroleum based products ever again... hey can we get this stuff in 32oz containers!!! Haha

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

.

I have never tried either product, but have heard good reviews on both sides. They seem to be the top 2 most popular Tattooing and aftercare products on the market today. One thing is for sure, Ill try anything once or twice. but I am sometimes difficult to change something that work for me, unless of course the potential to work better has been backed by people in the industry that I trust.

I've seen a lot of products pop up as being the newest and greatest, and it's hard to see through the smoke and mirrors sometimes... in the past it was people trying to get a jump on the popularity of stencil stuff, and coming up with their version. hoping to get a piece of the pie...

And now it's a different product.... I am glad, I waited long enough for the dust to settle and for the people I trust in the industry, like Mike to back this product, because that gives me a good enough reason to try it for myself....

So far, I'm batting a 1000, and have never been let down by any product Mike has given good reviews on.

With that said, I will be trying out Redemption in the very near future and Ill be back to give a review on it, should anyone be interested.....

Thanks for your feedback Mike.

Take care.

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

What's up guys. I have used both products and they def have their own advantages. While HB smells nice and all, once it's on the skin and "melts," it becomes a watery mess. The texture straight out of the container is interesting as well. You pretty much have to "shave" it out. It's hard like wax. It takes a minute to get use to. Redemption, on the other hand, is nice and smooth, like a&d, just not as thick and greasy. I'd say as far as longevity of the two, redemption stays on the skin longer if used as an aftercare. HB would be used more often as aftercare because it dries out a lot quicker. Lastly, in terms of use, while tattooing, a little chunk of HB goes a long way. This would be my only complaint about redemption. I replaced the redemption container much sooner than I did the HB. All in all, redemption still has my vote. Hopefully this sheds some light as far as comparison. Thanx!

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

Glad I found your post Mike. Yea I just used the HB for the first time today. Once you open the jar it smells great. I found the consistency of HB odd but find it works really well. Knowing a product is petroleum free is solid. The only other product I used was the Ink Eeze "Green Glide" but seems the product might of changed owners or they downgraded on the product labels.
I ordered a jar of the Redemption. The ingredients are what attracted me to it off the bat. Would be cool if they added Turmeric as that would aid in swelling as well.
Ill repost as soon as I try it.

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

Hello all.
I found this topic trying to do a little research on redemption. I currently use hustle butter and love it. I agree with the comment about it melting and becoming a mess. The packets have a better texture than the jar and I just give the client the packet at the end of the session. But this past week I had two clients allergic to nuts. Being that hustle butter contains coconuts and sunflower oil I chose not to take the risk of causing any allergic reaction to my clients and got stuck reverting to A&D. I am having issues finding the ingredients to redemption to find out if it would be safer all round. I would rather be safe than sorry. I've only came across one client allergic to latex but I still only use nitrile gloves just incase another one was to walk through my doors. Basically my questions are what are the ingredients and does it come in single use packets?

Redemption lists its ingredients right on the back of the jar

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

For Ser that posted about doing research and trying to find the ingredients in Redemption. It's on the label that is on the jars of Redemption, it's pretty easy to find, just take the jar and turn it around and bam, you'll see the ingredients:) I'm sorry to hear you had to resort back to using A&D. If I couldn't use Redemption or some of the other products that work, I don't think I would ever go back to A&D. I don't know what is in it exactly but for over a decade of using it everyday I came to the realization that it's actually not good, if people over use it they could break out, which is strange to me but thats the way it is, it happened on occasion. This industry goes through so many phases throughout the years, to better aftercare, tattoo machines, needles, ink, you name it. If it didn't we would still be tattooing with the primary colors that you have to make yourself and you probably wouldn't be using gloves when you tattoo. There is so much room for improvement in this industry just like the old pagers and Motorola flip phones, organic foods, I could go on and on, but it's all for the best of the future of tattooing to make better products. It's actually happening at a rapid pace right now and watch in the next year or two there will be so much new innovative creams to machines, people are going to shit their pants. I've always been a strong believer that if it's tattooed correctly it will heal fine no matter what you use. Unless of course you use A&D and they have a reaction which I have seen more from that than other other lubricant used during the tattoo procedure or aftercare. Once I made the final switch to only using Redemption for more than a year I haven't had one break out or a bad heal. Recently, I got tattooed by a buddy of mine, if anyone follows me on Instagram they might of saw the blue rose with an Aaron Caine machine in it, serious shit, it was actually the first time I really used Redemption as an aftercare rather than a lubricant for the tattooing. Now, I have a lot of tattoos and it's hard to recall everyone on how it healed but the really bad ones I remember and the really good ones. This new piece that I was watching him tattoo me for about 6 or 7 hours and drill me the entire time, I decided to change it up and actually use Redemption to heal my tattoo, and I must say "it was easily in the top three best healing tattoos I've ever had on me. "I was extremely impressed, honestly I couldn't believe it." Now, it was a buddy of mine, he's not a world renown artist, I was getting blasted for hours, he was using Redemption during the tattoo and I used it for a couple days. Let me just remind people or if someone doesn't know I have easily 500 hours of tattoos on me. So if that doesn't tell you anything, then just keep doing what you're doing if you are getting good results, this is just something I recently experienced other than just tattooing with it. If you don't like the smell and think something else smells better to use, go for it. Redemption is coming out with some new stuff thats gonna be awesome! I cant say much more than that but you should try it when it comes out. Be on the look out!

RE:Hustle butter vs redemption

I have used both products and they're both really good products. I have heard people say that they prefer the smell of Hustle Butter over Redemption but honestly, that shouldn't really matter. When I used both, they both keep the swelling and redness down and all the tattoos I used with both products healed up great. It's really about preferences, like I prefer Redemption and my brother prefers Hustle Butter. But like Mike said, really its about what works for you, whether it be Redemption, Hustle Butter, Inkeeze's Green Glide, or Aquaphor.
