Eikon ems 400

I cannot believe the trouble I am having with my new eikon ems 400..I waited for a long time to be able to get one and I finally do and it is giving me so much trouble. It shuts off in the middle of a tattoo.and sometimes the buttons do not work at all..has anyone else ever had problems with them?

I used a dudes at our shop and I wasn't a fan of the touch sensitive buttons, had no problems with the actual power supply though. I picked up one of the new criticals and it runs super smooth too, and the actual buttons on it are way more comfortable to use.

RE:Eikon ems 400

I have had my eikon since the day it came out and have never had an issue with it. I absolutely love it. I heard a few people complain about issues with it and I'm guessing like any other electronic, you happened to get one of the few with a malfunction.

RE:Eikon ems 400

Hey bud, I had the same problem. You have to contact Eikon directly. Mine was sent back and they had to figure out what was wrong as they had a big batch of EMS 400 with this same problem. I'm told something was shorting out and there is a fix for that batch so they fixed mine bench tested it and it seems to be working. They paid for shipping both ways but I was without a powersupply for a month.

Best of luck, it is a great powersupply! Guess we were some of the lucky ones to buy from the bad batch shorting out. They are aware of this problem so you should have no issues getting it repaired in a timely matter.

RE:Eikon ems 400

ya I got told they got a bad batch from eikon funny how that is considering the ems 400s reputation. I kinda think that tatsoul is just trying to mess with eikons reputation..but thar is just my opinion. I fixed the unit. Actually my boyfriend did. Now it works perfectly. Thank god. For the cost the damn thing should do the tattooing for me..lol

RE:Eikon ems 400

.

mine always "forgets" the programming at preset #1 and turns up with 5 volts after turning it on again after complete current interruption- means plugging it in again. all the other presets stay programmed. it didn't do that from the start, came after half a year. but that's a minor complaint and i can live with it. everything else is working fine.

the only thing i really dislike is that there is no switch to turn it off completely, so you always have to pull the plug. on the other hand it jumps to standby mode after some 10 minutes of no use. in my opinion that is quite a bit of stupid, because every transformer consumes the same ammount of current as long as it is connected, no matter if powering something or not. and that transformer is working at standby mode, i can feel it by the warmth of the device.

imho that is not exactly what i would call "ecological".

RE:Eikon ems 400

Yea I def agree. Drives me crazy haven to always unplug it after every tattoo. My Main concern is the wear on it. Like j.g said, mine also gets very warm even when just on standby

for that reason i made a kind of terminal built into my stainless kitchen cart workplace with a toggle switch to "kill" all electrical devices incl. the work light with one throw of the switch, but i haven't got a good idea for handling the problem on the road. i don't like the idea of soldering a kind of lampswitch somewhere in the middle of the main cable, because that would surely fuck up sooner or later by squeezing all the stuff into my trolley...

RE:Eikon ems 400

Just use a power strip and flip the switch. Its not a big problem. As for the power supply it is great and I love mine.
