Fusion inks are really great Inks, But so is Eternal and Intenze. You can't go wrong with either one of those sets. The only Inks I've liked from Starbrite is their white and canary yellow.
However my go to white now is the Intenze Snow white opaque.

Hope that helps, Take care.

RE:starbrite or fusion inks

As for Inks, Star Brite, Fusion,

Tattoo Inks are a matter of preference.

That being said, Faster Hand speeds typically like Thinner Inks!
Slower Hand speeds typically like Thicker Inks!

Tattoo Inks, Are Just Powdered Pigments with Carrier Solution.

The Pigments Break Down into:

¦ Vegetable Based, ~ Safest Inks. Least Allergic Reactions. However They Fade Fast.

¦ Carbon Based, ~ Long Lasting, However They Are Known to Cause Allergic Reactions, [ie] Red Rash!

¦ Acrylic Based, ~ These have not been around enough for the Data to evaluate Conclusively. However I feel They Are Safe, Plastics are used in srents, artificial joints etc... They Are the longest lasting best light fast ratings. BRIGHT BOLD EYE POPPING COLORS!

Next is The Carrier Solutions :

¦ Sterile, or Distilled Water, & or Witch-Hazel & or Alcohol, typically the kind in Vodka, Note Some ink manufacturers do use rubbing alcohol, & or Medical Grade Glycerin.

Some or all of these may be in your carrier Solution, SEE MSDS .. To find out!

What Each Does : * Water, is a carrier & is considered a wetting agent. Thins ink * WITCH-HAZEL, Reduces Redness, Busing, Anti- Septic Properties, Helps Promote Healing. Thins ink * Alcohol, Anti-Septic Properties, Thins Ink, * Media Grade, Glycerin, Promotes Healing, Reduces Busing, Reduces Redness, Reduces The Possibility of Rashes, Thickness the ink, keeps it moist.

Side Note: National Tattoo Supply, & Alla~Prima Ink, Carry Powdered Pigments, you can make your own inks. Or use the powder for special effects, Like Dusting, you coat the skin with Vaseline or A&D Ointment, Use a powdered sugar or Pepper Shaker to apply pigments, Next Run the machine dry over area.... PRACTICE ON PRACTICE SKINS, CRAFT FOAM, GRAPEFRUIT etc... First Before Skin..

A lot of inks come from the Same Manufacturer, Example, Philadelphia Eddie, Moms, Kuro Simi, Iresumi, from Technical Tattoo Supply.. Skin Candy, Blood Line, same also they manufacturer Ala-Prima Inks,

That's not saying their the Same...

MOST POWDERED PIGMENTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD COME FROM DU-PONT,

Radiant Colors for example is an Acrylic Based Ink Like Eternal & Intenze & Fusion, Radiant says their inks are a Vegetable Based Acrylic, What they mean is the Pigments are Acrylic, but the carrier solution has Medical Grade Glycerin in it..

Thinner Inks More Water, & or Alcohol & or Witch-Hazel in the Carrier Solution...

Thicker Inks, Have More Medical Grade Glycerin in them.

You can make your own Carrier Solution, use it for Grey Washes, & or as way to bring inks back to life that are starting to evaporate.. Also a drop or 2 on top of ink caps...

Personally I Like to Call the Manufacturer, as well as the Distributor. I will be purchasing from..if not Directly from manufacturer.
If they can't be bothered to answer the phone & or return a call. Then I will not deal with them! If they can't be bothered to talk with shop owners & or licensed artists, then what are they going to do if a problem arises ??

IMO The Best at talking with artist & shop owners are Etermal, Technical Tattoo Supply which is all the inks mentioned above, Ala-Prima, Star Brite, Radiant Colors, Skin Candy, Intenze Inks,

Fusion is made by a former chemist from ETERNAL INKS, I do not recall the Distributor off hand. But look up Fusion. THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE, & WHEN THEY RETURNED CALLS IT WAS A SECRETARY, WHO HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF INKS, PIGMENTS, CARRIER SOLUTIONS, DIDN'T KNOW WHAT A MSDS WAS? SAID SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK TO ME NEVER HAPPENED!
Several people I know had this problem..
I herd a lot of people like fusion...
But if You Can't talk on the phone to get business! WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A PROBLEM ARISES! 2005 Ink Scares.. Ring a bell!

Personally I use, Eternal, Full line Ala-Prima, Arcane, Full Lines Mom's, Outlining & Whites, Yellows, Monthly Red, Kuro- Sumi, Full Line Star Brite, just the Yellows, Greens, & Bubble Gum Pink. Intenze Full Line,

I will not use Fusion, reason read above!

My Advice is to get some sample ink kits. To try difference brands.
This way you are not outlaying a ton of cash.. See Which Ones you like..

To me a companies integrity means a lot... look at the brands I chose.

But you can ask 10 different artist what ink they like you probably will get 20 answers!!

I Hope This Helps You & a Few Other People..

Take Care, Bill Kearney. :-)
