Anyone heard of a reaction to opaque gray

I recently had a client that got a Black and white Camo fill pattern. I used Eternal Triple Black, Bloodline White, Bloodline Flash Gray, and Eternal Rigor Mortis (opaque gray - light gray)

Anyway, he tells me that he has parts that aren't healing like the rest, and its only the light gray areas. The black and white seem to have healed fine, but the Rigor Mortis sections are not

Has anyone ever heard of this? I've seen red reaction and even heard some people have reactions to blues, but I've never heard of gray reactions. The scabbing doesn't look good, and I imagine all the color is gone.

I thought maybe I overworked it, but I don't remember having trouble getting the color in, and its not showing up on any other color. This was his first tattoo with solid color fill as opposed to B&G with graywash shading.

I've always had a little trouble with working with opaque grays. Have you ruled out overworking the skin in some areas with the lighter tones?

I've had similar issues white opaque grey, especially with lighter values. I just assumed I had overworked the skin though. it can be a bit tough to get in solid without overdoing it

No, I haven't ruled out overworking him. I think there is a very good chance that is what it is. I still can't find any reports of a reaction to opaque gray, and I do sometimes have a heavy hand with lighter colors. I'm hoping moving to textured needles will help with this. Also, I was using a brand new power supply with a frequency/duty cycle regulator. It doesn't bog down like my old one would, so it just plugs away at full speed all the time. I've since adjusted my hand speed.

Thanks for your responses
