i just mix my own. Right now i use Alla prima Zao chinese Black, and then i just add distilled Water to it. 1 drop Black, and Water and up, the more Black drops the blacker it will get,

BÙT! you can allso do b/g Work with just Black, or very Little dilutted Black. it's al about strecthing and how your machine is working, fast, slow, punchy, soft, bla bla bla. It's and endless story, and the only way your going to figure it out, is to try as much as possible :-)

As to the question ~ Grey Washes make your own recipes or buy? Its a personal decision. Silver Back, Alla- Prima, Mom's, Intenze, Eternal all have excellent pre made washes. Some have a silvery undertone, some have a hint of blue, green, red Com's is a good example of the color ones. Nice effects. Silver is Intenze & silverback, you can accomplish the silver undertones by adding platinum to your own washes..

Black & Grey work ~ can be accomplished several different ways. First just a straight outlining black, with the use of needle depth machine speed hand pressure, Techniques like Whip Shading, video on YouTube channel ~ tattoosuperior1, Also you could vary the outlining blacks you use like Darkest, Dark, Medium Dark, ala Bob Tyrell, You can do darkest to lightest Traditional or build up tones lightest to darkest, FanBoy Ink has a video of this on their site.

Recipe is simple Grey Washes are just Diluted Outlining Inks.
You can dilute with Sterile Water, Distilled Water, Witch-Hazel, check with your State Health Department Regarding Use of Dilution Agents.. Example in New-York the Health Department requires STERILE WATER ONLY ! FACT... You can make a dilution agent like mine, Bill'Miracle Water... I am currently working on a piece and the next step is doing the grey wash. I'll be with my mentor this week watching and learning more from him about it too. I will definitely look that stuff up.

Hi,

I´ve just started using Cheyenne grey wash set (dark, medium and light) and they´re pretty good. These inks are good to work with. Does anyone else use them?
