Coil Cores

Hi Ive been interested in building my own machines for quite some time now and Ive finally got a pretty good set-up to accomplish that now. I've determined what the best materials to use are for pretty much everything except the coil cores themselves. Does anybody have any insight as to what the best metal to use for coil cores is? Any feedback would be appreciated.

No need to get defensive bill. It wasn't a negative comment just a question. So no need to be a dick
I never said stainless is not conductive that's stupid of course it is.
Most stainless steel I have worked with has little or no magnetic property unless it's very cheap.

Btw stainless bolts are not plated they are the same metal all the way through. I believe your a bit confused. You may be thinking of regular plated grade 5 or 8 sink coats.

You see I work with metals on a daily basis I just never heard of using stainless cores. Seems kind of pointless to drill and tap a harder and more expensive metal when 1018 seems to work perfectly.
Where did you get your degree in metallurgy? From google lol!
Your hilarious dude half of what you assume is just plain not accurate

RE:Coil Cores

HEY BILL, u know a lot about COILS, have u ever use other wire size, maybe AWG22 or 25, or different ??
what your opinion ???

RE:Coil Cores

Did you read the thread??? . I can't believe you would ask this guy for an opinion. 24 is kind of standard. I've used 23 and 22 with success. But not really sure what the point would be?
What are you trying to achieve that you can't get with 24 gauge?
Good luck ....Dan D.

RE:Coil Cores

They all ran fine. Not that much of a difference.
Some guys use 22, some use 23, some use 24
I can't see 1 gauge making things that different.
The resistance change is small.
I say to experiment . It's fun and you learn first hand.
Check your coils with a meter to get resistance value
And compare the ohms reading of each different gauge.
Make sure each coil is the same height and number of wraps when doing comparisons.
There is info on this stuff all over the web
Try a google search on proper tattoo coil resistance ohms.
Have fun with it....Dan D

No quarter..he thinks your me probably.
Please don't give him the satisfaction of an argument.
He will just call you names. And tell you you're wrong and bla bla bla. You're a better person than he is move on. Not worth your time.
Most of us have learned to ignore him. Sometime he actually has some pretty good info. So I read it smile and move on. If your reading bill, don't bother bashing me because I won't respond to your nonsense.
Have a great one no quater and you too bill k.

Just use iron man. Nice to see grown ass men getting so upset over steel types. Just plain silly.
