Stingray x2 problems

Hi! I've recently gotten a stingray x2 along with all the available cams. I do have all the tools required and the manual, yet everything seems to be fighting me. The spring lid absolutely will not come out, and im afraid to try prying too hard because if I can't convert this machine to cartridges, I'll have to return it. I basically tattoo with only cartridges. The screws are all stripped so easily as well, so exchanging cams is definitely not as easy as the manual/video would suggest. If anyone has any advice, specifically about getting this ridiculous spring lid out, please let me know!!

I would contact the people you got it from, they would know best. They might even just swap it out or fix it for you.

Yeah, I sent it back to the distributors who ended up removing the stayup spring and swapping out the screws for me. I attempted to change cams just as the manual dictates... And when I went to start it up, it didn't do a thing. Literally no life in the machine. I thought it was maybe the cam? So I swapped out the new one for the original, and still no life. It kinda clicked once, but it was so quiet, hardly significant movement.
My volts were maybe, at most... At 12. And that's because I needed to kick start my cartridge. My hyper V3 works absolutely great and I kickstart it there all the time, so I have a hard time believing I fried the motor just from that one kickstart.

I'm calling my distributor again today to hopefully figure it out. But if there's anymore advice, I absolutely welcome it.

Hi there,
I am very interested in your topic, because I am planning to buy the stingray and use it with cartridges. I specially would use it for lining so please if you write here how you solved the problem and if it works good with the cartridges. It seems like a grate idea but does it work as well and easy as it is marketed.

alexei- cartridges require a 4mm stroke, the stingray (original) doesn't have 4mm cam so needs to be adjusted (piston spring removed) to work with cartridges.
However the new stingray x2 has a stronger motor and comes with 4mm cam as standard and so in theory shouldn't need to be adjusted at all to work with cartridges, I haven't tried it with the x2 myself but this is my understanding.

I have a stingray original myself and purchaced a cartridge grip (expensive) but when adjusting my beautiful machine the very last screw that needed removing just would.not.budge! and now the head is f**ked.
soooo frustraiting as its so awkward to get to that u can't do much, nothing I do now will remove it. (if anyone has ideas on that feel free to share) but for the moment my only option now is to buy a replacment piston assembly and cut my current one out :(
(this part is more me venting than asking anything or providing info)
