Tattooing Knee's, Elbows and other areas of 'Rough skin"

Hi guys, I am a tattoo artist from Melbourne, Australia. I have been tattooing for 2 years as an apprentice. I was just wondering if anyone would like to share there tips for getting solid colour and smooth gradients in the areas such as the knee caps, elbows, and hands. I have had mixed results with these areas. I know a lot of this is dependant on the clients aftercare also, just want to here some thoughts. You can check out my work on instagram if you like - jackson_booth_tattoos. This is my first time on these forums so any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Just remember its all about stretching that skin! have them sit in any position that best stretches the skin out for you! in order to get clean solid lines and shading you'll need that skin stretched out as much as possible! also if you are afraid to blow out ones (which is extra easy in these areas) go a little lighter than usual with your hand as you can always add lines and make them bolder but you cannot take them away :) good luck!
