Liner stroke issues

We got a new huck spaulding liner and built it a few days ago but cant quite get it to run right. It sounds nice and smooth but when the tube and needle are in there the stroke is not long enough to get a good line in the skin. I am having to adjust the needle to stick out of the tube farther in order for it to look like i have a good length on it, but at that point it starts to stick in the skin, as it does when the liner is sticking too far out on the tube. We have tried moving various parts around but cant quite figure out the problem. Anyone have any advice on what we might adjust to get it to have a long enough stroke to get a good clean line?
