OPENING A LEGITIMATE PRIVATE HOME TATTOO STUDIO

Hi guys!

I am looking for any solid advice on how to set up a private tattoo studio in an apartment in San Francisco, with a focus on the permits, steps and any legal things I would need to do to make it legit and by the books. I'm gathering that there needs to be a business license and health inspection, zoning, etc. as well as a list of things like a sink in the room and sharps containers but, understandably, there isn't a lot of info on how to properly go about it.

Also, I am absolutely not a scratcher. I am a professional artist that has had a proper apprenticeship in a high profile shop in SF. I am blessed to be booked out way in advance and currently work in a great shop, but I am simply looking for a more intimate chill work environment and do not want to give a percentage to a shop anymore.

Thanks in advance for any help!

you may have luck looking into in-home hair salons, dentist offices, and other in-home business's.

along with separate sink and sharps, you will also need tile floors or the equivalent. separate entrance, and a few others.
