Brother PocketJet Thermal Printer

So I've seen these new Brother Pocketjet Printers and was curious as to what peoples thoughts are with them. They look and seem to work well in a few of the videos but, some of the comments on the videos seem to have suggested otherwise. We currently have a thermal fax machine in the shop but, I'd like some more feedback and opinions on these printers if you use one. Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

hey, i use one every day and love it .it does take a little time to get use to it but if you use Photoshop a lot then it is a great tool to have. the more you can run Photoshop the better it will be for you. prints great stencils. and its mobile which is so awesome. i really had my doubts about it too. but i took the chance and man I'm glad i did. it has been worth the money. hope this helps

The learning curve is a pain at first but when you get it dialed in, it's indispensable. The fact that it can do grayscale is just amazing! Worth having for travel and for more complicated stencils but it's still a good device to have in addition to your regular thermal. I've had mine for about 6 months and so far it's worth every penny.

Have recently bought one of these to try, do you guys find that with the printer being made with only one feed roller the thermo paper slides over itself leaving straight line gaps in the thermo print? (Have done all the advanced settings and everything)

Hey there, we call those rivers. they suck, but the good thing is the more you use the printer the better you get loading it. you really have to get the paper just right. when i started using it i had the paper all jacked up now i very seldom get rivers. keep the paper as flat and as straight as possible and over time the rivers will stop flowing. lol hope this helps...

RE:Brother PocketJet Thermal Printer

my only mention aside the previous replies, is that after the learning curve etc etc, I've got to the point where it jams the spirit paper inside - 10/10 tries. (after less than 50 prints)

the pj-6xx is made for printing on thermal paper, not double layer plastic+paper. other than that, the price lowered close to half in 4 months.

just my 2 cents.

ps. I forgot about the incomplete instructions for installing the windows driver on COM9.. and no horizontal flip.
