Some beginer questions.

Hi,

Since few month I bought some tattoo gear, and few questions cames to me :

1) I'm on Hummingbird v2 original motor, and I don't see any difference while screwing or unscrewing the top wheel, what are the aftermath on the needles? Is it still necessary to adjust even with the cartridges system?

2) I have some problem to pierce the skin, this week-end I tattooed my sister, and often on the belly it was hard to pierce this area however I stretched skin.

3) I'm running my machine between 7-8V for lining, but it was shaking a lot, do you may be know why?

4) I needed to dot a wide stroke, like 7-9RS, but I'm scared to use large needles and fail my stroke, then I was lining with 5RL, what advice can you give to me?

5) I use only one machine, I wonder if during the recovery preparation of the machine + cable, should I wear gloves during this step? If so are there a risk of contamination if it first touches the cable and then the protective plastic and last the client's skin? How can you avoid this? What's your prepration steps?

Thank you so much

RE:Some beginer questions.

I hate to say it and don't want to appear an arse but .......... you should not even be thinking about tattooing skin yet, you have recently purchased some equipment, you do not know how to safely use it and you run the risk of scarring or infecting someone, put the equipment away and start researching how to tattoo first, there are forums that will gladly help you but you need to be committed to learning, tattooing is not something you can "just do" because it looks easy on TV!

I am self taught and know how hard it is to learn, I did have some guidance along the way, there is so much to learn before you even think about touching human skin.

RE:Some beginer questions.

Hi,

First I think I know what I do about tattooing, a lot of tattoo artists started by the self taught way, and I think we still can learn by ourselves, but for some technical questions like I did, is there no other than than get helped from others.

This is my first tattoo :

I think my lines are not so bad, but I have to learn a lot, and a lot, and a lot, because this took me so much time to do.

One of my question is about real skin feeling, sometimes it was so hard to pierce the skin, and sometimes it was easy, because of me, because of my machine setings, because of my no experience, because a lot of things. But I actualy can not to apprenticeship but I would like to do it, trust me!

Then if for what I asked those questions, and I think a lot of people here is able to answer me. And despite the lesson you just gave to me (as I can often read on other thread) I will end up sooner or later have the answer to my questions.

Thanks for reading, and sorry for my bad English syntax.
