Skin Tones again

Hello Mike, I would like if you could elaborate on your technique of doing skin tones?

Do you fill in the whole face with different tones of browns and color in an opaque way. And then go over the top with color glazes?

Or do you shade some black and grey and shade out the browns (skin color) into the lighter natural color of the clients skin tone.
I suppose what I am asking is if you shade with the color.

I would appreciate any insight and tell the guys at Art Junkies I said hello.
