Selling Neuma Hybrids?

Hi Mike,
like other people ive heard nightmare reports about Neuma having no customer service, ive had no luck with them even answering emails or phone calls, just no reply at all. Plus long delays.
When do you think you will be selling The Neuma Hybrids and electric modules? Im gagging for a pair, would you say one of each would be a good way to sart with a switch over from coils to Neuma,
one SS and one LS or do you prefer a particular one? Is one better for lining and one better for shade/colour work?
Also early last year some Neuma Hybrids were released onto the market, were these different to the ones that are apparently due out soon by Neuma? If so what are the differences between the two?

I'm going to be offering them very soon,i was just at Neuma yesterday and started gathering some stock,i don't want to put it on my site until I'm fully stocked so there will be no delays when an order is placed.By the end of the week i should have it all on my website for someone to order,I'm going to simplify it and not carry everything they offer, for example as of now i'm thinking i'm only going to offer black modules, instead of all the color choices they have,if someone wants a pretty color they can order it off of the Neuma website.I'm also only going to sell the short stroke neuma machines, they are the ones i like the best and don't really notice a huge difference between them, the short strokes seem to be just perfect whether or not your using a lot of needle or not, seem to be more efficient, and I don't see a difference in using it for a liner or shader, each machine comes with different cushioned armature inserts,to hit soft, medium or hard,so you can easily swap one out depending on what your preference is.
I'll have all the different color Neumas to choose from.Black, red, blue, gold, and silver.
I'll have just the standard rubber-band color and just black disposable hose that goes from the regulator to your neuma.
I'll have the basic regulator that you'll need to run the Neuma with Air.
I'll also be offering Eikon Power supplies to run it with the module.(note; Not all power supplies work with rotaries)
I won't be selling compressors, you can either get one from Neuma,or look into getting a silent/quiet air brush type compressor, compressors from home depot work but they are loud,if it will be outside or in a back room, that could work,i would also recommend getting an oil less compressor,if its oil-less it might not be silent but you wont have to change out the oil and is all around better in my opinion. Two specs to look for is it needs to be at least 2 cfm and have a 1 gallon tank.
The new Neumas are different from others released onto the market earlier in the year, the big black piece which is the bottom housing,is made out of anti-microbial ULTEM composite. The top housings continue to be machined from anodized aircraft aluminum. The new composite piece actually made the machine a bit lighter, and is said to help the machine run even more efficient.i just got a couple myself and i'll be trying them out this week for the first time.

wow, now thats what i call a reply, thanks for the info Mike, i dont think anyone can get confused by that post its so accurate and to the point, thats brilliant news, i was a bit suspect about the LS machine, i thought the SS would probably be sufice, though i'd be interested to try an LS to see what difference it makes but for now im more than happy to take your word for it as A) your are an awesome tattoo artist and B) You have tried these machines out and have personal experience with them. What's the crack with Neuma lately im getting lots of real bad reports about their customer service, ive tried myself and get no response whatsoever.
For such an amazing invention it seems they have such shocking zero customer service, im puzzled by it, its not good PR for them. Maybe they should issue a news bulletin to their website so that customers are kept informed of the progress, this would avert bad speculation about their status? Definately gonna get a couple of these machines and give them a whirl tho, you say not all psu's will work with them? Is the list of 'wont work' longer than the list of 'will work', if so then maybe im gonna have to invest in a will work model??? What is it that stops some psu's from working? input voltage, amps, dc, or output voltage? Can you imagine how pissed you'd be to get two lovely Hybrids, waited for ages, then the damn psu goes in a huff with them : )

Some power supplies just max out or have a safety shut off when its to high, the new Eikon EMS 300 works,it actually has a setting specifically for rotary machines.A cheaper version that works but doesn't have a digital screen is the Eikon ES 200. There are other ones too but i'm not sure of the names, but if you order one other than the two i listed here just make sure it's returnable if it doesn't work.

Hi Mike, about the Neuma Hybrid, I just landed myself a pair from Neuma, an LS and an SS. Do you know any info on wether or not to oil these machines and if so where to oil them as there is no info in the manual about oiling the Hybrid? only on oiling the N2. The Hybrid is obviously a completely different ball game to the N2 and have heard you can screw them up if oiled? whats your angle on this?

Yeah, you do not want to oil the new hybrids, only the N 2s

Hey Mike!
You say you´ll be offering machines and so shortly and when is that?
I love the n2´s and have one ss hybrid that i use daily but, since there must be some major problem going on at neuma, I´m still waiting for an hybrid order paid about a month now. I mean the problem isn´t that it takes time, it´s that they by the phone promised me that I would have them before I leave my contry for work abroad. That day is coming up in about a week and i haven´t even got a confirmation mail of shipment. Also that was promiced.
I know this isn´t your table at all but since the have so much trouble deliver what the promice I´m asking if you mite be better and if so when can we expect that service from you.
Again sorry for pukeing up on my situation and it mite not have been written here but but you allways answer witch is amazing!

Hey mike love the fact that you still stay right involved with the questions and answers for the general public much respect to you for that. I about 5 weeks ago ordered a complete hybrid setup with a ls and a ss upgraded compressor the whole nine yards I just wanted to say that It has been so frustrating to spend all that money have them take and not hear nothing until finally I get someone on the other line to say they still haven;t shipped and the one package I did receive was the wrong air compressor which I sent back unbelievable I just have to say if it wasn't for you and your good things to say about them I would have cancelled the order but I'm not giving up. One more thing I sent an email to you because I wanted to purchase your video and book and for some reason was having lots of problems with your purchase part of the site have you had any other problems from other people trying to by your stuff. thanks sorry about all this text had alot I wanted to say.

Yeah that does suck, sorry to hear you had such troubles with that. Thats a reason why i want to start offering them,is to help get them to people. As of now i have 8 gold Neuma Hybrids, and some regulators at my shop if you are local you can swing by and pick one up, if your not local and still waiting for me to post them up on the site,it should be soon. I'm still trying to get all the stock together.

Hi Mike, I think its really cool how you always answer folks questions, respect to you bud. Im loving the hybrids, i seem to keep using the LS more than the SS for large areas of shading, they just blow me away how easy they put the ink in, just point the machine in the right direction and it does the rest itself, awesome blends, still cant figure out which density each cushions are though, no info in manual about the grey, white and black cushions and which one is which, can you shed any light on this? with the fingers they all feel the same. My SS seems to be way too gentle putting the ink in compared to th LS that steams its way on! Im sure the SS will have its uses but i barely seem to be picking it up, yet you love the SS, maybe it will just take me time to figure out its benefits on certain pieces. Im so glad i got both cos there is a big difference between them both i think. Do you know any easy ways to bag up the rca cable when using the module, its a nightmare compared to a standard clipcord? A simple thing that frustrate the hell outa me every time!

As far as the RCA clip cord i just use the same type of sleeve you would with a standard clip cord and just wrap some tape around the end to hold it on. The little cushions seem to change but i think the light grey ones might be the soft ones, but you should be able to feel the difference by squeezing them and feeling how hard or soft the cushion is.

Alright now that a lot of time has passed and it looks like i get the same customer service everyone else gets from Neuma. So i have now decided to not take part in helping them sell there products. So if you are interested in getting them, you are probably going to need to go thru Neuma.

Is this why you are moving towards other machines like the stygma hyper and such? I guess Neuma has to much to handle, since the word has spread trough out the world.
If you would recommend a setup of machines, how many and what kind of machines would you have?

Well I just gotta say that after all the waiting and displeasure with Neuma's service I awhile ago recieved all of my Equipment from them and well wow I have not picked up one of my coil machines since. It's liked resparked my whole tattooing process how too's what I can and can not do, I'm really glad for hanging in there and I realize that I can only speak for myself but i'm even thinking of purchasing one more as far as strokes I have one of each and love both of them.
RE:Selling Neuma Hybrids?

It could be a partial reason why I'm more eager to try other machines and spend the time getting comfortable with them, but it goes beyond that. Like I've said before the traveling with a compressor sucks and I've been traveling a lot lately and yeah i could take the Hybrid with the motor but until they get all the kinks out,and maybe come out with a second generation Hybrid, I think as far as a rotary or swash drive or what ever kind of machine it actually is i think the Hyper Stigma is hands down a better machine, its smaller, lighter, and more consistent, i just wish the Stigma had just a tad more give to it,but its a solid tattoo machine, and just like the previous post about getting a Neuma and sparking an interest,Its kinda the same for me after using Neuma for so long it's fun to use something different. I'm not saying I'm never going to use Neuma again, I'm sure i will but just not on the road. I do feel that i can get a tattoo smoother and softer with Neuma with air,so if a piece comes in that i know i need to get it really smooth and soft then I'll pull out the Neuma. Or I'll use a combination of machines, like lately I would use the Stigma for my small mag and lining and a coil machine for my bigger mag and I've been really liking that lately.

I have never done a tattoo, i dont have any..but i want to learn to do tattoos. I have two brothers who do tattos in another state i can phone for advice. But they know nothing about neuma machines. What im wondering is if as a noob, with a pretty good job, and the money to go and get the good stuff, do u think it would be easier to learn on a Neuma machine. And what do you think about the fact that i cant draw? how diffrent is it? i have hope because the better of my 2 brothers at doing tattoos couldnt draw for shit..and they tell me to go for it. What do you think. Any advice? is it reasonable to think that i could do good work one day?

perhaps you should stick to the job u have now. tattooing is by far da hardest job n e one can persue, there is so much to it,its almost like 5 jobs put together. if u have no tattoos n dont kno how to draw, it would seem impossible to grasp da concept. there is no room for error. advice over the phone is not gonna do much for u. get u some nice big tattoos first before even considering buying equipment. then u might have someone to perhaps take u in as their apprentice. if u have a good paying job stick to dat, it takes a long time to make a decent living as a tattoo artist,it might take longer if u cant draw.
