RE: bugpins in UK

Hi! Yes it´s most definatly cheeper to buy quality inks and needles from the us but it takes time to get them and if you are unlucky the customs charge you lots for it. so that price difference is easy to be eaten up buy that. Yes you save a bit on buying hole sets of inks but you will probably notice that you end up not using a lot of the colors so in that sense i have foud it to be cheeper in the long run to just buy the colors you actually need. However as I guess a lot of people would say their is nothing wrong with haveing a wide selection of colors to choose from. I use Eternal, Alla prima, Silverbacks for your blacks, some Intenze and some Starbrite. As for needles I recon mithra tattoosupply have a uk site? mithratattoo.co.uk and the have all the bugpins you need. As for myself I only use bugpins curved for the larger ones and strait for smaller groupings but I have found that I personally like Kingpins more than mithras. The have fenamenal disposable grips aswell. kingpintattoosupply.com. But remember if you order from them you need a shoplicence and it´s going to take time to get it so have it planed ahead.

Hopes that helps you something.

It´s not that I dislike the mithra needles i just fancy kingpins a little more. Nice to have helped you share some info. But do try the disposable grip with redrats from kingpin their the shit.

dont you think isvery hard to get so mutch needles in the skin?
#8 needles is like in a 7 magnum you can have a 11 mag....

you can make solid color with this thin needles?

RE: bugpins in UK

In a 7 mag tube it would be a 9 needle bugpin,so its just an extra two needles. On occasion I run into situations where the ink might not be going in at its best, but i think that has to do with the machine or the area that is being tattooed. Most people that i talk to once they try the bugpins they are hooked, give em a try and see what happens.

RE: bugpins in UK

Yepp! It´s so true. I tried the bugpins roughly about a year ago and have never turned back. It takes a little to get used to but once you see the benefits of layering and the smoothness that brings you´ll get hooked too. But surely if you are looking for that peppery oldschool look I would stick to shorttapered standard 12´s. About the ink earlier the Alla prima is great ink but one downside is that there is no ball in the bottle and if you have colors that you use more sparely the will have a tendensy to clogg down the bottom an separate from the fluid. And once it gets to that point its hard to shake it right without a ball inside. Is like your fetigue before you even star tattooing =/. How is it with fusion ink i here so much good about? is it the same as eternal and intenze with the ball inside?

RE: bugpins in UK

i try sometimes the bug pin but is more hard to get in the skin than the #12
you guys can get solid color with them or is more for blending?
top of page

RE: bugpins in UK

Sure you can get it solid, but take care not to overwork the skin. I find that if i stretch the skin a little more and being very soft on the hand, you can with a few turns get it solid to. Maybe not answer enough....

RE: bugpins in UK

Hey I have a problem here I can seem to find a bugpin provider ...and also I can find out what type of needle are bugpin... cuz if it.s just another name for needle in 0.30mm and long taper....anyway.....

and as needle are thinner you will achieve smoother blend and the needle seems to demand less effort to enter in the skin......but yeah for solid field (even more if you are using quite thick inks) I found that tougher needle are easier to use.....in fact I thinks the taper of the needle is even more important that the thickness (except if you are using relly fat or thin one)
that just what I thinks...not sure ahahah

anyway let me know if someone here can tell me what are reaaly the bugpin referenced needle

RE:bugpins in UK

Tattoorite probably make the best needles in the UK. they don't list anything as "bugpin" but you can pick about any pin size, taper and solder point you could ever want and they are great quality.
Only down side is my last order took about 5 weeks!!
