A full set of?

Hi mike, I guess you have inevitably answered this question a thousand times but I have searched for a few hours in the forum and cant find the posts the answers were in! :-)

I was trained a little of the old school way, you had one set of inks and you used coils and you did your outline and then your shading!

I have since been expanding and stretching my wings and I would like a little advice! I have gone to rotaries and am currently using neotats but not feeling very comfortable due to the "give issue" so thinking of either going with stygma, injecta, or swashdrive rotaries.

I am also just about to expand my ink collection and I was wondering what you would recommend having full sets of? I have mostly just been using starbrite (full set) and nationals. If you could advise what I should purchase as a full set and any other colours from other brands to buy individually, I would greatly appreciate it.
I am also thinking of purchasing the systems sets out of the alla prima range as they look stunning. I havent used them so I dont know how well they work, but the actual colours themselves are beautiful. Have you used or heard of the Alla Prima range?

I have your book and I know that it does touch on inks that you use, but as skills and time develops, tastes change, and new inks come out, so as it has been a couple years since your book was published, I thought I would touch base with you. Thanks so much for your time, x

RE:A full set of?

alla prima are great , the primary color are kinda thick but going easy in and all the 3 colors system I have are cool but way different to use than the other brand I have ...as for the machine if you have the money to test a lot of them and find what suit to you...go for it

RE:A full set of?

I still love all the colors that I listed in my book, but since then there is Fusion Ink that is really good, I mostly use a combination of Eternal Ink, Fusion Ink, and Intenze. You really cant go wrong with a full set of any of these. As far as Alla Prima, i did notice that a few bottles that i have the ink was a little thick and that made me steer away from it, i only used it a couple times and don't have a solid opinion on it. If you like the Neo Tat machine you would like Stigma too, maybe better because it does have some give to it that you can set. I recently answered some FAQs on the Stigma due to the amount of emails im getting with Questions. I'm going to post them in a new forum message as soon as i get done writing this.So check it out it may answer some other questions you may have about it.
