How fast can i do a second sitting

Hi! I have a client that works on a boat and leaves in a week for an at least 6 months work trip. I´ve started a piece on him, only tattooed all lines and now I wonder if i can finish it even thou the lines are fresh? Is it safe to go back and color it in?

My thoughts are that if i just don´t go in to the lines it should be fine, but I´d like a second opinion. Is it going to be extra painful for him to do this?

Thanks

I would avoid it. Even though you aren't "touching" the lines, the surrounding area is still irritated and the pain for the client would be a lot. How long will the time in between be the night before he leaves? if it's a week away and you did the lines a few days ago, you might be ok. A big factor to consider too is what kind of line work is there? A bunch of detailed tight 3 lines heal way faster than some triple passed 15's.

it is not uncommon to work on someone two or three days in a row. when coloring just color one whole area start to finish and move up the arm. You obviously must becareful, but there is a video on youtube, where Markus from Lux Altera works ona guy for 3 days straight, at the end of the third day the dudes arm looks like a water bottle thats about to burst.
