RE:Eikon ems4000

I was on their site earlier this morning and it seems to have disappeared. It was supposed to be unveiled today, but it has apparently been delayed...

From what I've heard it's supposed to be pretty awesome, but I'll have to wait a bit longer to see it I guess.

RE:Eikon ems4000

it looks ok i think in my personal experience that the critical is a better unit thinner and it has the same controls it has a wireless foot petal its all digital same style of button action but it comes with six machine presets not 4 it has a timer aswell it comes with a very versatile stand and its the length of a bic pen and an inch thick it has a constant button on it for people who want to disregard the pedal im just saying that thee eikon is ok i think i looks bulky and im not a big fan of it sitting on my table and the options and features dont really wow me in any way seeing how the functions come on another unit already its just a new idem that people are going to say that its the best because its the latest thing out.again this is my view and opinion only im sure there will be people with there own.

RE:Eikon ems4000

Your probably right Adrian, thanks for your input. I still want one though. lol... I'll post what I think after I get one and use it.

RE:Eikon ems4000

Adrian I´m totally agreeing with you. This "new" features are actually not that new, and the critical is smaller and probably more versatile. I mean I use the same bags for machines as for my critical, and no other supply does that, not even this new one. As for the wireless footswich, that is really the best thing ever. No cords on the floor no more in my shop. And the team behind critical even offers all users of the old cx-2 an upgrade and a footswitch for a cheap amount so you don´t need to buy a new supply. I guess this is a great supply no doubt but nothing on it is really new, so go with the smaller critical cx-2r.

RE:Eikon ems4000

My Eikon sits under my desk collecting dust waiting for the day when it will be needed as a back up unit. My Critical is mounted to the wall by my station, nice and outta the way, screwed to the wall so i can never pull in off the counter, love all of its features and it's the way to go in my book. But a power supply that looks like my Wii is kinda cool. lol

RE:Eikon ems4000

I use and have used neuma hybrids, the dragonfly, swashdrive 7, stigma hyper, a roman build rotary, and they all works like a charm with my critical cx-2 r. So yes rotarymode what ever that means.

RE:Eikon ems4000

My partner here, Altoe, got the EMS400 and it's SICK. I love it. I've used a Critical one time and that's a great Power supply as well. I go with the Eikon because it looks like a external Hard-Drive...I'm a computer geek too so there. LOL. I'm picking one up ASAP.

RE:Eikon ems4000

I have this machine, and im very happy with it. I run stigma hyper2 , fly neotats, and fk irons, plus a few others, absolute solid machine. lot of great options, runs any rotary without a problem. touch screen takes a little getting use to, seems sensitive when you first use it. love the small design. has a cool silicon base that sticks to anything, to keep it in place. has 4 seperate machine presets that you can toggle through as you switch each machine. no complaints, actually dropped it once of a table, and it was ok. would definitly recomend it, especially if you like to run rotaries.

RE:Eikon ems4000

i have both. so here is my list of pros and cons.

critical can be bagged with my wash bottle bags. but ems400 uses one sheet of barrier film, so wither way its easy to keep uncontaminated.

critical has the push buttons, eikon has a touch screen. so eikon wins there.

critcal can mount 6 ways to sunday, eikon is fucken tiny and has the cords coming from the back. this is a preference on where you like your supply, for me personally eikon wins there.

both have a timer, but the eikon has a mode where it only runs the timer when your tattoo machine is running. or standard stopwatch mode. eikon wins there

critical has a wireless foot pedal eikon does not. im not sure it the wireless foot pedal can be used on any supply or not. i would imagine your syncing to the receiver that plugs into the foot switch jack, but i dont know for sure. so critical wins there.

critical has has 6 machine presets, eikon 4, so eikon wins there.

the rest is just about the same. i like the look of the eikon more and overall i like the power supply much better. my critical is in a box with my old eikon as well. touchscreen power supply??? thats all that needs to be said.

eikon wins.

RE:Eikon ems4000

i got one just so i could use rotaries. nice supply for that but not for coils as much. touch screen doesnt react to fast manual voltage changes went dialing in on diff machines.rotaries all run the same all the time. plus not a fan of the cords out the back it takes up to much of your cord length and gets stuck on the unit.
